i just want to ask a question to all of the experienced plo players on Cardschat, i wanted to know the value of aa and kk pre flop and how i should play them?
i also want to know what i should do when i hit trips and there is a straight draw on the board should i just play it cautious and call it down to the river, fold to a bet on the flop or raise to eliminate any draws.
thanks in advance

It depends a lot on what the other 2 cards are. hands like KK49 no suit are actually pretty horrendous but a hand like KKJ10 double suited have a lot of value but it is usually never wrong to be open raising with any AAxx hand.

A lot of how you play your hands post flop is based on the villain type but in general, if you have a made hand on a board that is fairly wet, betting is the preferred option.

Yep, I agree with marginal.

What I normally do is hit my set on the flop, bet pot then watch as the straight/ flush/ quads turn up for other person, then leave the game!!!

Preflop, I`ve been told, there is very little between hands. I know playing a hand like AAKJ and watching as the table muppet calls u down with 9742 double suited and hits 2 pair.

Simply put, u r playing for the nuts unlike say NLHE, where the nuts is rare.

What levels do u play and what format?

do not think that all starting hands in plo have the same value thats terrible advice. the value of the AAxx and KKxx hands also increase/decrease dependant on the size of your stack and your opponents stack. When your real deep and you have one of these hands you dont really wanna get it all in for 200-300bb with just an overpair. Obviously the more coordinated (connecting and suited) the more value these hands have. If you have a set and there is a draw on the board you want to get in as much money as possible... the point isnt to get people to fold when they are way behind its to get them to call with worse hands and get their money in bad. Slow playing a set with a draw heavy board is terrible as your giving ur opponents the oppurtunity to draw for cheap.
