I think i tend to switch my playing styles to quickly and people catch on to that for some reason. I dunno if im just playing way to aggressively at times which i like to do. I dab in the lag tag aspect all the time.
Switching up your style of play is a good way to deceive your OP, unless your doing it based on your hand strength. If you play more aggressive with stronger holdings than you do with the weaker ones, then your an open book. You need to make sure your bets and raises aren't exposing your holding. You should
bluff sometimes, but do so with some caution and with pot control in mind. What I mean is this. If you feel you might be able to bluff someone off a marginal or even a strong hand due to his reluctance to bet a wet board, then take advantage of that. Put your OP to the test in these situations, and sometimes you might get caught, but most of the time they'll fold. If you're bluffing a somewhat dry board, and your sure by the river your OP isn't going to fold to anything, but will probably check the river, than do just that, check the river. Yes, you're going to get caught bluffing, but the EV of the bluff is what you need to think about, not losing a pot or having your bluff fail. You're setting up future situations where you will have the best hand, and they might just call you down on that last bet with a marginal one. Heck, they could do it several times actually, because your bluff has given you the image of a LAG, and maybe a wild one at that.
Aggression is not a bad thing in poker, at any level. Yes, it may get you in trouble sometimes at the lower limits as these players may be inclined to call because they can afford it; but don't give up on being aggressive just because some players are rocks. Just try to avoid playing these types of guys with marginal hands or bluffs. Find the passive players that will fold to some pressure, and use your aggression to your advantage. Then, when you have that strong hand, and your in a pot with the rock, you can hammer him to little pebbles. It'll be fun.
