So,

What if you could play poker like a robot?

It sounds sort of funny, but you could play poker like a robot. In fact, you could play poker better then a robot. All you have to do is program yourself to play winning poker; and do not make mental mistakes. It does sound a lot easier then it really is; but it can be done. Not everyone can play poker like a robot but those who can are very successful in the poker world. They make very little mistakes and play elite poker all the time.:deal:

Yes you are right. the main thing is to develop a strategy based on past experience, but not all conditions can be formalized and described as a set of clear rules.

Pretty sure much of it's math, and straightforward. Yes, there are other factors, especially in live poker, but playing robotically rather than acting like you're playing roulette --- bad plays that win are still bad.

you do not need to formalize all the factors of the game. The main lines of the draw are sufficient to be successful compared to the rest of the mass of weak players. At least at the limits, where there are a lot of them.

I think this works on micro limits. At higher limits, people play differently.

In what you are right. Sometimes it seems that decisions are made automatically. It's even boring to play.

I believe that if you play as a robot in a long poker tournament you will end up being eliminated ... since after a couple of hours you will be easy prey to the villains because they will have enough information of the form of your game and you will be very easy to interpret your game ... the game strategy must be changing and different for each stage of the tournament as well as each hand played needs a unique strategy according to the circumstances at the time of play ..!

I would disagree wit hthe state of winninng robot-like strategy. Poker is the game created by humans, in the base of wich human rules lay so deeply that any computer could distinguish wether human is bluffing or not. Moreover such bluff is a way to earn more and with flying colors:eek: Yes, on the long distance computer will show profit, but it'll need like thounsands of hands to show such results that a human in one single tourney being HUMAN with his weak and strong sides:)

I beat the robots by bluffing them or baiting them. They overstep with their betting or understep with their calling and I know when they are weak or strong.

Playing constantly ABC poker already means playing as a robot. Would be cool to teach self-robot make critical decisions in tough spots, e.g. having flush on a paired board or two pairs on heavy draw boards etc. If a robot could also identify your opponent style (tag, lag, maniac, cs etc.). Here is the human factor and intuition could have some edge.
