Decisions for the New Poker Playe

Decide if you want to play poker to win or just for fun . To play with a consistent level of victories it takes time and effort. No other words , this requires work. There is nothing wrong with playing poker for fun, but there's no need to play to lose , even if you are at the tables just for fun . Decide what type of player you want to be, before joining the tables, make your decisions and sessions easier

Pro poker players are PROfessional players ( They are paid to play, only sponsored player are pros ), so you wont become Pro, you'll become more skilled and experienced, but you can try learn on poker-strategy, and of course there is a lot of good information about poker that you can find here on CC, knowledge will leveled up your game, good luck :icon_bigs

Well you can play millions of hands and never become a pro in poker, of course the more you play the more you learn but it depends with whom are you playing and at what level. Imagine any sport {basketball, football} if you don’t get the proper trainers and go step by step increasing your skills is never going to happen. You may become a decent poker player for fun as many of us are in CC. to be a poker professional you need to earn your living playing poker, your day to day work is to play poker at a level that allows you to get a nice and sustainable income. Hope will help! :D

Study. Study. Study.

If you're not constantly looking to improve your play, you'll never make it.

Pro poker players are PROfessional players ( They are paid to play, only sponsored player are pros ) . . .

Anyone who earns their living playing poker is a professional - sponsored or not. Many successful cash pros not only are not sponsored but prefer to stay out of the public spotlight.

Cheers!

Incorrect, there are plenty of unsponsored professional poker players.

Being a professional poker player generally means that you support yourself with your poker winnings and poker is your job and only source of income.

It's like saying Ike Haxton and Kanu7 are no longer professional poker players as they have decided not to renew their contracts with pokerstars.

They still both play poker for a living and do not work a normal job so imo they are still professional poker players.

i cant speak on playing professional poker-i can speak on what it took for me to become professional disc golfer-hours upon hours of endless practice -2 hours a day practicing putting-3 days a week practicing recovery game on bad shots-3 days a week practing long drive game-for those who arent familar with disc golf your playing 18 holes of golf with some simalar to a frisbee lil smaller with very shart angles on edge-hole lenghts vary from-100ft to 650 ft sometimes going thru heavily wooded fairway with 90 degree angles in some of the hole-some holes are over water-i also went out on pdga tour for cash money if you won or placed-it takes endless hours of dedication and many hours of practice as well as playing and challenging yourself to do better-i would image becoming a professional poker player wouldnt be that different realy-i was at one time the number 5th ranked pro in phily area-i still play now and again but nothing like i used to-which also tells me to maintain professional status you,ll have to ,practice and continue challening yourself
