I am interested in playing live poker but I am unsure if I should play live cash game 1/2 or play in a poker tournament at the casino for like $60-$100? I usually play online tournaments currently.

Thanks in advance.

I would say that if you are a tournament player online then you should play tournament poker in the casino. I would play some lower limits first tho, say $5 or $10 tournaments, just until you get comfortable playing live.

Until now I have not played live tournaments, but these from what I've seen require much more time than online tournaments, you have to take that into account, however 1/2 games will give you the opportunity to retire at any time. That is my choice and my motive

Not as much more time as you would think.

I play tourneys online with less than 100 players and they are getting close to 5 hour affairs. Similar live tourney might be 6 hours long. Often longer but the structure will determine how much longer.

I think the NIT mentality has taken over online poker tourney's. That and some unknown reason to use a lot of clock every time it is some ones turn to act.

But yeah, live will take longer.
