I asked about the differences in cash games and MTTs a while back, and the answer I got was that preflop play was more important in a MTT and postflop play was more important in a cash game.

So basically can anyone give me a rundown on how I should change bet sizing, some examples of when I want to shove, etc?

Also should my preflop hand ranges be about the same as a full ring game?

I just wanna understand some basics before I start playing, any other tips or advice is also appreciated.

Well, I busted out early in one with KK against AK all in pre; the guy caught 2 Aces! In the other I made it to the first break and in decent position: top 200 of 895. I guess I have figured out how to adjust for now. Late game is probably a different story though

Well, I busted out in 369th place. One guy made a set over my top pair (I folded but it cost me quite a bit of my stack anyway), and then I got 3 bet and decided to shove with 77 since my stack was crippled anyway. He called with 88, I make a set, then he rivers a straight, such is life :p

I still need to figure out how to adjust my game because I feel like I'm investing too much with cbets and bets to try to figure out where I'm at in a hand

I think pre flop raising is very different in mtt's vs. cash. I raise 2.5 x every blind level of every mtt adding a little for each limper as well. In a cash games 3x up to 5x seems like the norm? My hand ranges seem to be more narrow in mtt's, cash games you can always reload. In a mtt when you are out you are out.

I was doing just 2x raises, and I probably do need to narrow my range too. I didn't think about that. Hopefully doing that I can make a better run in tomorrow's freeroll
