Cant get tilted from free money, feel like this will always happen during the freerolls and there is nothing anyone can do to stop it.

As stated above, you can't control your emotions in a free roll, best quit now afore you lose some real money. **** happens, focusing on results instead of your play never works out.

A good way to play freerolls is tight aggressive

:DI've come to know a good way to play freerolls is tight aggressive. The "First Commandment" I guess you could say would be never to go all in preflop. I have made it to the last fifty in many freerolls by not going all in preflop. Believe it or not I should start a thread called "Aces cracked" because before the flop it's a coin flip. Good Luck:D

Beginning of a freeroll you usually want to play tighter because the blinds are super small and there are no antes.

Once you start building up a big chip stack and there is a lot of antes in play (10-12.5% or more antes) you want to start widening up your range and stealing blinds & antes from a scared table that is just trying to get a minimum cash.

So the later stages of the tournament are mainly better spots to be aggressive. If you have a very weak player though that you can isolate in the beginning then take advantage of that moment.

Lots of people will go on in with anything at the start so keep it tight and look for good spots.

Once the people who aren't really bothered about winning the freeroll are eliminated you can open up a bit.

All the actions should be reasonable. Doesn't mater where and what you do

It depends on the freeroll, but sometimes LAG is a better playing style at the start. The reason for this is the players at the start of a freeroll are likely to have very wide ranges. Therefore, waiting for AA doesn't make much sense if AT is good in the same spot or has the same chance of getting sucked out on. If you accept that you could go out at the start regardless, then perhaps getting it in with any slight edge early is ideal to build the chip lead.

Later in the tourney TAG makes more sense as the slightly better players will be waiting to pick you off but again only to a certain extent depending on blind and ante structure and how better opponents respond to your tight table image. E.g. If you were playing TAG against a donk/fish/whale early on, there would be no point in bluffing him, but playing TAG towards the later stages against better players, you may find you get too much respect. Therefore, mixing it up a bit is essential for max. value once you understand what is going on.

But to answer the original question, if you have AA and an opponent is calling you with a deuce, you need to bet more for value on earlier streets, especially pre. Actually, if they are calling you every time with a deuce you need to bet a lot more for value pre and with any hand, especially if you can't make a read to get away on a later street. Contrary to popular belief, you do want to get sucked out on. The worse the suckout the better you played. Sometimes I can see wanting to protect tourney life as a reason for wanting to play smaller pots but not early on pre-flop in a freeroll because you will only be getting it in with worse spots there later on.

Freerolls have two of pokers worst combinations, big fields and people that dont know how to play. You can learn a lot if you have the patience. Early on its best to be tight. Look to double up with your premium hands and always play them aggressively.

Freerolls are simply bingo games for the first hour (at least) with absolutely nothing at risk. These (donkey) players simply push it in and prey. But these players gain nothing from these moves, however it sure can lead to some bad habits if a good player starts doing the same thing. For these habits could really cost you at a real touney, or cash table. So play solid poker and let the donks battle.

In free tournaments you will never learn to play. It is best in my opinion to start with cheap tournaments and move forward on the limits))

Yeah stop putting so much faith in big pairs, and try playing the hands you think are crap.

Also i dont think playing freerolls are particularly helpful to ones poker skills, seriously if you are playing against some one who has put up nothing of value, how can you bluff them or make them think twice about betting, why would your opponents even think about folding when they got nothing to loose.

I have lot more to say about this but it just occured to me, why teach other people your strategy, people might use it against me... (paranoid much) lol dont listen to me im just a degenarate gambler...

Unfortunately people are going to play very loose in the beginning because it is a freeroll. Your aces will get cracked sometimes, but you have to take the chance for a quick double up. Other than premium hands, I agree with the advice to play a little tighter. Let the craziness go away and try to build a stack for the later stages of the tourney.

Three words and only three. Patience, patience, patience. Only play the very best of starting hands and conserve your stack. Open up when you know that all the donks have been knocked out.
