Hi people. I know everyone knows this but I think its important enough to hear again. If at all possible play in a nice quiet room. Lol. For example last night after work I decide I need to play cash games. So I get a .02 on FF and a .06 on BOL(ya its a little above my free BR, but wth) I play for an hour or so and I'm up in both. Going good getting a few hands to play but most important making smart decisions. Then the better half and 3 little grand babies get home. As you can imagine it got hectic. A few mins later I'm in a good hand with tptk there was a pair on board but he didn't have it. We went to river where i sucked out a king for a boat to win the small pot. I asked if he had tripped the pair? He said no that he had the nut flush. I was so distracted I had never saw the flush draw. I did the right thing i left and took a break. morale: distractions are bad. Just thought this might help/ remind someone to be diligent. See ya on the tables .. Tal

I find Omaha needs the most focus, easy to make mistakes with flushes & sets.

Hi Talden, yes you are right. Quiet room is the only thing i need when i play too.
No people around, maybe music instrumental and water. No alcohol!

I find it pretty hard to play without some sort of ambient noise, but too much definitely hurts my play.

First, nothing of tv or any other device that can take the focus, okay?

Let's go the game!

Yes, it's true, with other kind of noise, especially TV or girlfriend at the phone :), you make other decisions, cos you're looking on your screen, but you're listening to other things.

the most important thing is not to have a girlfriend

Getting a good hand folded waiting too long to act is the worst.

I have a wife of 30 years. Sometimes I can tune her out. Lol. But when she starts throwing things at me I have to listen.

when to Give up with over cards

Hello Poker People!!

very often we get what most of us considered good a hand, over card (KQ,QJ,KJ,QJ) and we decide go for the gold with them, a bigger no no, it is when you don´t connect nothing with the flop and 1 or 2 player raises, and some players decide to call or even worse raise the bet to scare the opponents.

very few times that works for us, but must of the time the offenders make their bets becose they have a pocket pair and what the floop provides just clear the field to their hands and made it stronger.

so remember yo can look the turn if no one bets before than you or if the bet is not that big, based on your odds and pot odds.

I hope that you find this information useful.

Best regards :jd4:

Sometimes when I am distracted I really have a great results , and I think when I am on the positive mood I can read the players hands , and even I try to avoid bad decision.
I think really is a big difference between positive emotions , and negative emotions.

I like to play 6-card omaha on Full Tilt, because I think this is a very good cash game, you have to think more than in other games and if you play good, know when you have to fold or play forward in a small time you earn much with it. Sadly so many bad beats occur which can be very annoying and your game become distracted.
