Yeah, I have just been starting to play and learn the game 2-7 Triple Draw Lowball. The rules of the game are fairly easy and I caught on to them very quickly. However, I had a question regarding discarding(drawing) in this game. When playing, should I be discarding 9's? Obviously, you want the lowest hand possible and I always throw away all face cards, but had a hard time figuring out whether or not I should keep or discard 9's. After playing many hands, I had noticed that alot of winning hands were 9 low. I also found out that sometimes I would stand pat with the 9 low and often be beaten my a better hand. So I would appreciate it if anybody who is pretty familiar with this game could answer my question for me. I mean I know this answer may vary at certain times with keeping 9s at certain points and discarding at others. Thanks for anybody with feedback and always GL at the tables...Mikey

Discard the 9, but if you get one back it is still playable.

it depends, if it is ur last draw and ur playing 9 low and the other ppl in the pot are still drawing, i would stand on the 9 but if it is the first draw i wold probably discard it
but try to play small pots with a 9 low

You should read the chapter on it in Super/System 2. It is by Daniel Negreanu and it is really informative. I had never played it before reading it for the same reason, I had no clue what the strategy was, but after reading that I felt like I knew a lot more.
