Lol, u and that moshman book. Lol
I just didn’t like it the 1st time around because he advocates pushing with qx, kx or lower in a few situations I didnt like. and he would just say somthing like "if u lose u still played the structure of the sng correctly or the ur right for playing that q hi in that situation because of the
odds"
i just didnt like it.
He usually explains his advice very well and the book is well written, but his advice did not suit my playing style nor the low online sngs that I was playing at the time.
Ill admit im just a mediocre joe poker player and maybe I wasn’t ready for some of the ideas he advocated at the time but the advice just didn’t suit me.
The other problem I had with the book was that it was just like other 2+2 books- too much focus on the math side of poker without regards to other things that go into making a poker decision. and doing that makes poker mechanical and I don’t like that.
Overall, it’s a good book. id recommend it because like I said earlier -its written well and moshman explains his advice well but it just didn’t suit me. Maybe when I look at it again ill say “yeah that makes sense now” or “nope nope nope”.
Gotta remember things ppl write in these books aren’t written in stone as things change, its all just advice.
To me poker is an art form not science as ppl with the odds and math try to make it. Those are the 1s that usually get upset when their premium
hands get beat with nonsense lol.
If the advice doesn’t suit ur particular style of play or situation= best to just keep it either in the back of ur head or on that shelf for a later time. Im gonna look at moshmans book again this week and im not bluffing lolol.
