Option ''Players note''?

When I started playing poker, I did not use this option
But for the last 6 months, I often make a note related to the game of some people
Several times later I played with people whose playing I notice
I can say that it helped me because people play again same
Do you use this option and what your experience is?

If you enjoy this aspect of poker I find the 'label' method much easier then written notes both to do and to 'read' in the heat of the moment.

Since I own a HUD (I own Jivaro) all I need to do is use one label ("slowplayer") as this is the one type of player I cannot remember easily or be able to tell from their HUD stats.

The slowplayer label is basically the most important one. Every other label is kind of obvious if you have a HUD or have good memory.

Tag the players you need, you will have something on that player, something is better than nothing.

I also always do notes on the opponents, a lot of players are special programs to control the game enemy, but I have enough and marks on the player, as I myself think amateur and poker for me as a hobby. Good luck in desks!

I put tags on a different category of players, depending on the style of the opponent's game. it's easier.

If you want to be a successful player, you must use all the available and permitted opportunities to gain an advantage.

This feature is not available to all poker rooms unfortunately. This function is of great practical importance, since it can give a significant boost to superiority over your opponent, as a result of knowing in advance how to play against your opponent and how he behaves in certain rallies. Do not use it is stupid enough.

I use both notes and color coded tags. Red usually a "TAG" player. Green usually a "fishy" type player. Then if I need more detail I can read the note. The color coding comes in handy while multitabling for sure.

I find this useful especially if it’s been a while and you run into that player again.

I'm just curious: How do you guys take notes on opposition players? What categories do you put them in? And what is the most important thing to you to note about a 'villain'?

Thanks :)

Usually I just try to put facts before labels. I try to avoid noting "this guy is a donkey". Because sometimes that person in particular just tried a fancy play and got punished. I try to avoid underestimating my opponents, because double the pride, twice the fall.

Instead, I just write what they did, like "All in pre flop 69o" or "trap with AA". Knowing their modus operandi is more helpful.

I try to remember his unique decisions that he is made, then i would define him as i tight or loose player.I will also try if we are going to play more time at the same table to define his range of raising cards.

HUD>Labels

I'm just curious: How do you guys take notes on opposition players? What categories do you put them in? And what is the most important thing to you to note about a 'villain'?

I used to overdo that a lot when I started playing poker. Just putting labels on people that I thought would play badly and marked them as "fish".
With the time, especially once you start using a HUD, you realize that you could label most people at microstakes as "fishes".

Now what I like to do is mark people that i think are decent players aka regs. Also checking them on "sharkscope" (in Sngs or MTTs) helps a lot. Basically everyone else has some sort of bigger leak you can exploit using the HUD. Especially once you start multitabling you will lack the time aswell.

If there is certain spots someone played completely weird i will note that, but usually using labels is not worth the time and will get you confused imo.

Now if you dont want to buy a HUD yet, you can do that ofcourse, but you will need a lot of notes to make those labels valuable.

Edit:
actually there is allready another Thread about this: https://www.cardschat.com/forum/general-poker-13/option-players-note-351593/

HUD helps to collect statistics, and labels are needed to refer to players who have committed something that is not standard, not correct. And also for the standard groups of players (based on the statistics that the HUD shows - but it's faster to evaluate not the data in numbers, but simply the color indicator).

Poker is a game with the unknown. Quick game, without a long time to think over each action. You should simplify decision making, as far as possible and allowed by the rules of the room.

I play frequently in the same tournament, and usually in this tournament the same players and I remember the tactics of their game and it's really reliable for me in the game

Yes, I make notes on the players and it helps me in the game. I also mark different colors of players by the types of their game.

Player notes are a very useful option when you are running up against the same players. One snag is when your list starts to become long, you need a good retrieval system.

I use tags and have each color labeled for a different tag. With certain players I will make little side nots to go along with their tag

Not really.

Does hud tell you how people play their sets? or if they flat QQ?

There is so much information that hud just doesnt capture. If you are not packing out your notes for every player you are throwing away vital information.
