Played too passive
Hey Chatters,
I lost with pocket AAs last nite in a $1,000 tourney. But, I am not crying that I got sucked out. Reason for losing is I played "too" passive and wanted to make it to the money.
The caller made a bad call (Called a 7,000) raise with K6 os) in my oppinion, but got luck and hit to win.
As I comtemplate the hand, I realize this was the time to get agressive and let the "chips fall where they may".
Player to my right had 1,000 chips and went all in. I had pocket AAs and only called. There were two other players to my left. One folded and one called. (Player with the K6 os.
The flop put K and two rags on the board.
After the flop, I went all in with my remainding 7,000 chips. And,opponent to my left called.
As we showed out hands, I had a pair of Aces and Opponent to my left had a pair of KKs. The original all in player had rags and no pair. A desperation all in.
On 4th street along comes a 6 which gives player to my left KKs and 66s. Me with just the Aces,
River, nothing and I lose.
So, in analysing the play, it seems that had I went all in to drive out the other players, I would have won the pot and still been in the tourney.
Any thought?
