I flopped quads out of no where in a $20 tournament, and i was just curious whether this play was acceptable. My friend argues with me that after the check on the flop and the reraise on the turn I should have pushed all in against the villain despite him displaying a tight aggressive image and me knowing that he was holding an Ace. If you guys were in this situation without knowing the outcome what would you do on the flop, turn, and river? I know this is silly anyone can play quads without a sweat, but with everyone limping in and BB checking, I knew that a bet would most likely scare em off on the flop with my tight-aggressive image so i Checked. Ace comes up and someone bet with me knowing he made a Full house J-J-J-A-A. So i value betted him to the end. If you guys made the Full house without knowing your villian has the jack and he went all in would it have been an easy call for you?

i think that you played good, you cant expect to take a lot of chips when you hit monster like this because the chances are big that no one would have a hand specially with no raise before the flop. maybe if you bet on the flop both of them would fold, maybe if you just called his bet on the turn and check on the river he would bet and you could move in he might call because he might thought that his full house is good enough which he probably did because he called 3/4 pot bet he would call a shove imo

we need to know your opponent stack,
i think u got minimum value for your hand, with quads it is either a double up or a no action, your opponent probably figured you had an ace too and was going see a split pot because the way he played his fullhouse was just way too tight, i think u should have shoved on the river Q.

I think you played it right. A check is not a bad play as he could of put a bet in when you checked so you could raise him. He could of folded to the check/raise but then again he could of re-raised you or just called.

If you had of raised post flop you probably would of scared him off.

he had around a 8000 chip stack and the tournament was narrowing down, would you risk 4000 to split 1900 from his perspective?

You can raise the turn. You don't need to shove, but it will set up a bigger river bet that he will also call.

Flop check OK.

Finding that magic spot where it looks like you are trying to steal this pot is not easy, but it came when the A fell on the turn. Villain will most likely call anything you bet, so a shove is likely to get called.

I think people will bluff the A and fold to a raise a lot. So I'm calling turn, and letting someone catch up then shoving river.

From the way you played your quads, I would say you got max value for it. Problem in this hand is betting too much that your opponent might be convinced that you have the J.

I think you played it well, could have possibly made some more money out of it but I think from start to finish you did fine. any A is making the call obviously on the turn, cant lay that down but a shuv on the turn depending on stack sizes I would lay an A down but depends on stacks as well.
