I play mostly MTTs and am looking to play SNGs more. My question is what percentage of sit and goes should a good player be winning/cashing?

Well i wouldn't know much about percentages but if you are making a profit over a fixed period of time say a week and you have been disciplined enough by only playing within your bankroll then thats what i would be happy with. Then i would try and make further progress by trying to maximize my deep runs which would automatically result in heavier profits.

Also i think the stats just about percentage of sng's cashing can be misleading sometimes. For instance 2 players play 10 sng's each and both cash in 5 of them, where one only min cashes in each of them while the other makes the final table in each of the 5 cashed games. So their percentages would ne same but onw would be making heftier profits than the other ...

overall if your going to play sit and goes you should be multi-tabling them and putting in a lot of volume to maximize your profit...rakeback is a great addition to these on most sites...whether your playing 6man or 9man sngs..your ITM rate should be around 35-40% on average over a large sample size of games..if your playing double or nothing sngs...it should be higher at around 60-65% over a large sample size of games

what you should be most concerned with is how many first place finishes you get. if it's higher than all of the other places in your distribution you are doing really well!

Basic overview, 6max anything around 35-37% 9 mans 37-39% HU 52%+

I would consider a player good if he can break even in 3 months time whether mtt or sng. Meaning the percentage is 50%.

thats a difficult question, hu hypers are going to be very different from 45mans

win per hr is the best number to focus on

Too think start playing SNG to 40 people.
Interesting that you should give that advice. Would you care to give your reasons for that recommendation.

Thanks for the several helpful answers, everyone! I think I like sngs a lot so far. Seem like a profitable format.
