Peeking While Still In The Hand

Does anyone think that continually peeking at your hole cards after the flop, turn and river goes down sends a message of weakness to the other players? The converse of this is a player who doesn't peek exudes an air of confidence

I think sometimes peeking can be to check the suit. Usually people know what cards they have but can't remember if it is a club or a spade and if the flop comes 3 clubs you better check to see what you have.

I also think that it can sometimes be a sign someone plays a lot of online poker where you can see your cards all the time. Your mind turns to mush and you forget them when you can't see them on the screen,

I'm not sure what the problem would be. There could be a bunch of reasons why someone looks at their hand, from checking the suit to making sure they have AA and not A4. Be careful not to read into it too much.

I have a good memory when it comes to visuals or pictures, so I don't look at my cards too often. But lots of people I play with always check and re-check their cards.

In the end I think it's more of a habit than it is a tell on whether or not a player is confident.

All depends....has the player been drinking? Do they normally do that when they're in the hand? Did you only notice it when they had a certain type of hand? Are they involved in a conversation that keeps distracting them? Sometimes it's a good indication their hand is sketch...sometimes not. You have to take all the environment into perspective

I always see players do that on live games, but i dont consider that a tell on the players.

Typically I see this when players hands somehow play into the board whether it paired or some kind of draw. Lots of players like to recheck their hand to review the suit of their cards. I had a very good night playing against a player who would not check his hand if he missed the board, but checked if he made something. I would just bet into him every time he didn't look. Nice when you get such an obvious tell.

Running Nose i believe any action sends all different messages to all different players. In the game of NL Texas Holdem i believe you must play the players individually. But i you are looking for a more general answer i would say No. That sends the message that you are trying to act confused giving the message of strength. This would be my personal opinion of course. Does anyone else have a continuation or counter answer/reply to my response I would be interested.

Best way to figure something out about what it means in relation to a specific player is to correlate meaning to shown down hands when that player has exhibited that behavior.
