So you know that there are three types of fish right? If you didn't, you probably know the donk type:
1) Donks are LAG fishes who focus hardest on pre-flop intimidation so that the smarter players on the table are terrified to even try and outplay them (a donk can have kings or 2 4, you have no way of telling before you bet too much into them).
2) The cute fish. The LPA fishes AKA calling stations. If they raise, that's the only time to be worried.
3) The 'I don't earn much but I don't give much' fish. These fish are terrible at tournaments and, at best, break even in cash games. They do not comprehend to be aggressive. They are the 'check check check' with four of a kind type players who solely look good when their opponent bets into them. I would consider calling them TPA fish but actually they don't know how to estimate odds so they are not really tight.
Okay, now we have three types of fish so how do we fight them?
1) Donks are fought by being as aggro as them when you have a turn BEFORE them, you will find they actually show fear when you become aggressive (if they don't, you probably bet into their pocket Queens or something, so now be cautious).
2) You fight the cute fish by never bluffing, ever. You bet proportional to your odds and never ever think you can intimidate this type off of the hand.
3) Never bet unless you hit the nuts. This type will sit there with three of a kind praying to their God that you raise into them, if they are in a hand, you never ever know what they have. You should allow others to raise first and watch if this fish folds or not. If this fish has folded then take it form there, if they call, that is the equivalent of them going all-in.
So, where is patience involved in dominating the player types mentioned? It isn't. You don't sit and wait, you don't play TAG-every-new-shark-type poker, you need to play dynamic poker, randomly raise preflop with 5 7 and randomly slowplay ace king. The more unreadable you are, the more god tier your outplays will be and more chips you will take per outplay.
