As of late my play has been kept to a mininumum do to health reasons. Lack of focus and i tire quickly. I thought 2011 was gonna be a better year being my second year of online poker. Having the basics down and making some final tables torwards the end of last year, I had high hopes for this year. Well i'm off to a slow start some small cashes but many defeats. do to a mentle block. My mind is'nt seeing past the cards i'm not focused on players at my tables. I'm playing way too many hands for the sake of boredom. Knowing that my attention span is compromised by my new meds, i find myself going big or going broke. and going broke with marginal hands that even i know I should be folding. Well just wanted to vent and I hope this mentle block passes soon. bigbigbucs

My best advice would be to play shorter sessions. Say 100-150 hands at a time if you're playing cash, or turbo sng (you can easily play 2 in an hour) if you play sng/tourney. You'll still get in your games, but not play too long where lack of focus becomes an issue.

If you are finding yourself getting to card focused, then turbo sng is good as you can basically play a fold/shove game when you get hit with a hand and still be decently profitable at them.

Sometimes I take time off of poker and try a different game usually video or just spend more time with the kids. Most times this does not work, because time is not what I needed I just needed a swift kick in the butt and someone telling me I am a better poker player then that and I tend to focus a little more.

and it has helped

By playining a samller field of players or one game at a time has helped greatly. I have had some small cashes. My focus when mt just goes right out the window. Feeling somewhat better I have tried playing 2 3 or more games at once and no avail. I gotta keep it simple 1 maybe 2 games for now. bigbigbucs
