This is a discussion on Open minraising from any position within the online poker forums, in the Learning Poker section; What's the consensus on how good/bad the strategy of min raising every position is?
It seems like it would induce a lot of unwanted calls
IMO if you are a strong post flop player, then min-raising pre is okay. Gets you into the game cheap and you can take advantage of weaker players. If you are fairly new to the game, I don't think it's a good move unless you have a very good read on all the villains at the table and how they play.

re: Poker & Open minraising from any position
It depends on the type of poker you are going to play(MTT,Cash or SNG). In different situations you can use min-raise if you need it

Game: NL Holdem
It can be a profitable play to avoid pot sized rake in cash games and in MTT's if you are opening a wide range of hands.
