I was playing Omaha Hi today for the first time on pokerstars.
Do you only get to play 2 cards from your hand and have to play 3 from the board?

I thought I had a Aces over Tens but my oponent won with Aces over Sixes.

Yes, you are right about the rules. If you think you lost with the best hand, then maybe you can post the hand here.

2 from your hand, 3 from the board. Always.

Straights and flushes are the hands that will take more looking than two pair. Once you get the hang of it it a great game.

yeas you MUST use two hole cards. Cant be only 1 or 3 or 4.

I made a similar mistake when I first started playing omaha and it cost me a whole buy-in. But, LESSON LEARNED.

Been making a decent profit on Omaha Hi ever since.

Good Luck.

It is always 2 from your hand and three from the board. No offence but do you not think you should have known the rules before playing.

The best way for me to learn something is to try it. And it was a freeroll so I didn't lose anything by trying. Considering it was my first time I did pretty good.

Well said. Best way to learn is from experience. Also dont ever be ashamed to ask a question here. It is a poker forum. People are always here to help you. If you legitimately dont understand something then theres no way its a stupid question..

Must use two cards from your hand.
--If there is 4 to a flush on the board and you have 1 in your hand you do NOT have a flush.
--if the board double pairs and you have one card match either pair you do NOT have a full house.
I remember several times going WTF I thought I had a flush or FH or straight. I think most of us experience that type of learning curve.

You must play 2 and only 2 cards from the cards dealt to you and 3 cards from the board.
