Good to know that it takes some real skill to take down an Omaha tournament.

Omaha is a frustrating game that will make you want to impale yourself on a large stick.

If you feel the need to learn the game, read Hwang's book about Omaha, and then invest in a learning poker site with good training videos.

the best thing I've learned about omaha is that it's a drawing game. I too won a trny a couple of years ago without knowing what the hell I was doing. After looking back at it, I realized that I hit like 80% of the draws I was chasing.
Lucky for sure. But it was still fun lol

In Omaha, play connecters and suited hands.. For example if you have KKJ5
on a 5h6h9s board, it isnt that easy to play it, because people could have 2 pair, a set, flush draw with straight draw, in holdem it is a lot easier to play this because you only have 2 cards in your hands.. In omaha you get 4 cards, which means if you have 2 opponents and they're both on a draw or something or a pair, you're still ahead on the flop but your winning chance against 2 other opponents is not much, there is a bigger chance that you lose the hand than that you win the hand

ive switched to omaha hi 6m cash games im only playing 10 and 15 dollar games max but i find it the most exiting wild volatile game going!!! i love it! but remember that however good your hand is preflop ,yopur opponent is not that far behind you at worst 3-2 so im told. my advice is forget what you have learned in hold em or you,ll get smashed ,my favorite opponents are players like this ,there raises are predictable e.g aaXX kkXX and i often play a raiser with my connecting hole cards ,
i wouldnt say im a great player but i have been consistent ,i have no software for omaha and can only say to learn you have to get involved and get some sessions under your belt, there isnt a wealth of omaha literature out there and once you have gone thru what is out there (super system 2 etc) you wont know much more than the average holdem player so flying time will make a lot of difference ,also only draw to the nuts!! ,
PLO is such a big wild game that there is an awful lot to learn ,but i enjoy wilder games and am fed up of playing holdem cash games (play standard has increased ,so its harder for me to find a decent edge ) good luck mate (that also helps)

Omahas a fascinating game. Completely different from NLH. The game also varies hugely depending on the betting pattern. Limit Omaha is completely different from Pot Limit or NL.

Its funny, cause sometimes you can have around 10% chance to win the hand, vs 2 players, even though you are alone with the nuts.
