Hi everyone. I am just getting in Omaha H/L and have one question. I have read the articles here and understand the basics of the game pretty well. My question is what the best low hand would be in the following situation.

Hand 1: 7-6-5-3-A
Hand 2: 7-6-4-3-2

Hand 1 has the Ace but if you follow the "left to right rule" then Hand 2 has a lower card first, being the 4. Which hand would win? I would think Hand 1 would win, but I did not really get that out of the Guide posted here. Thanks for the help.

Ok. So it goes by the top low cards and not the bottom. I get it. Thank you very much for the fast reply.

Hand 2. Remember when reading low hands to go from high to low, and as soon as the "tie" is broken, that hand wins. It's not about who has the lowest low card, but who has the lowest 5 card hand. That's why it's so optimal in Omaha-8 to have a hand with "counterfeit protection" -- i.e., a third low card to go with the two that you expect to make your low hand with. For instance, a hand with A-2-3 can still easily make a nut low hand if a 2 hits the board, while a hand with only A-2 generally cannot.
