I'm really confused. Please some1 explain me why player 1 loses this hand.
Omaha

Player 1::9h4: :9c4: :kd4: :2h4: Player 2: :qd4: :jd4: :5s4: :4c4:

Board: :9d4: :ad4: :4d4: :3d4: :8c4:

Why doesnt that king make higher flush? Do I miss something? Maybe yes, but I rly want to know what is it.

becuse in omaha You ALWAYS count yours two own cards for set. (not like in holdem)
player 2 got flush AQJ94
player 1 got three of a kind 9 with A 8

(The Ace of diamonds on the board is not showing in the post for me :confused: :confused: but I see it here in the quote.)

As donkeyhead says, in Omaha you MUST use 2 cards from your hand and 3 cards from the board to make your 5 card hand, so hand No 1 cannot make a flush

It's a good question but oftentimes it's a mistake that many (HE) players make in Omaha ;)

True...lot of players struggle with this....
Looking at showdown, in Holdem you see 7 cards and any of them will be used to define your hand, no restrictions.
In Omaha you see 9 cards but your hand is defined by 2 of your holecards and 3 of the boardcards, nothing more, nothing less.

So in this example player 1 will never be able to make a diamond flush.
As player 2 made the flush on the flop, the only way player 1 could win is if the river would pair the board to get him a boat or quads.

Exactly, always, and ONLY 2 cards from your hand and 3 from the board.

In the case of Omaha hi/lo (O8) same thing, but the 2 cards you use from your hand can be a different 2 cards for the high hand and low hand.

Exactly 2 cards from your starting hand are used.

Was wondering recently why that rule was adopted in the first place, but it does seem like a good rule.
