On an mtt i am playing well and my chip stact was thrice to starting chip stack but then i was deal very bad cards like 72 83 92 10 2 k2 q4 A 2 A 6 etc for long time.. and my chip stack goes very low to half of starting chip stack. I tried to bluff but not worked.. Somebody always raise 3-6 bb prefolp in every hand. What to do in this kind of situation.

Wait it out

I would wait it out for it is better to have a low stack than get called on a bluff or simply go in because you are getting low chips - which in either case, you end up out of the tournament instead of in it, but with smaller chip count. When you get the big hand, don't go all in right away, but slow play it till all your chips are in, hoping a few people go in with you and you get back the stack of chips (1/3 starting).

Look for spots to open up the pot when it's folded to you.

Look for spots to steal blinds and to re-steal if you're in the blind yourself.

Look for spots to make squeeze plays in late position.

Look for spots you can make a big raise/shove in late position vs a bunch of limpers.

3bet raise/shove over a preflop raiser with anything decent and try to pick up the pot preflop or hope your hand goes up.

Don't be afraid to take flips.

Try to use your tight image to your advantage.

I think when you're card dead, taking advantage of opportunities to pick up pots are more important than waiting for a big hand to come along. So, use that tight image. Steal from the blinds. Don't be afraid to shove against preflop raisers and take flips; especially when you're dropping below 10 BBs. Sometimes, you can't rely on the cards to help you out and the blinds wont stop raising, making your stack shorter each time. Sometimes you gotta take it upon yourself to make plays if you want to survive.

Finally, don't think too much into it. Everyone gets card dead at some point and it's not that big of a deal. Sometimes, you just don't catch cards. So, just play tight, pick your spots, and hope for the best. If it doesn't work out, there are plenty of other tournaments to play.

fold all that junk. How many times did you play one of those pockets? You must learn patience in MTTs.

thank you guys..
One more thing.. should we try to steal blind by making a 3-4bb raise on button holding A2 A3 A4 A5 A6 A7 A8 off suited.. If yes then what to do when facing a reraise of 3-4 times of our raise.
and a reraise to all in.

Teepack said "fold all that junk. How many times did you play one of those pockets? You must learn patience in MTTs. That is great advice. I have played MTTs where I folded for the first hour or more, but the cards did change, and I was still in the game instead of out because I called with rags. I don't even play A and low kicker because I been caught out there against A and better kicker, and lost a lot or all my chip stack. However, those hands work for some players but not for me. Why would you raise with A2 on the button if you can limp or call a small raise, and see the flop. But then what are you going to do if the A comes on the flop and 2 other high cards? More than likely you will be out kicked and lose the hand anyway. Keep asking questions here and use the advice. GL to you

jerohit I wll fold must of these hands, since they are not the best to play with. but if you are getting close to 10BB you need to use the Smart Bluff Strategy, SMS. in position you do the 3BB, 4BB or pot bet so that you get limpers to fold and get a chance to see the Floop.
If you dont then the Blinds will finish you.

Patience, fold all those hands, only thing to do is to try to steal some blinds in position.

Just fold bad cards and waiting for good hands. If you new player use only AJs+, AQo+ and 22+ its 15-20% of all hands.

You must learn patience in MTTs.

i absolutely agree but sometimes you are waiting good hand then you are getting it and you make raise on preflop play post flop and on turn or river you understand that behind and you should pass and feel yourself very unhappy because after that you have two options fold and all-in (((

people why i can't create own topics ???

I agree with above. Patience is a must in poker. We all have runs of bad cards. The trick is to get the most value out of your good hands, and use position to steal even with not-so-good cards if you think you can get the blinds to fold (use your tight image against them). That being said, once you are short-stacked you will eventually have to go for a coin-flip or worse...start looking for spots once you get below 14BB to shove with decent hands. The bigger cashes are at the final table, so focus on that more than min-cashes. One or two big cashes will far exceed your profit on 5-15 min-cashes depending on the types of tourneys you play. Gl!

I would wait it out to get a decent hand. And you can try to steal blinds and bluff passive players.

Don't feel pressured to bet until the situation is correct. Yes, you are probably going to loose this MTT, but if you start betting badly, this will carry on into other tourneys

You could use those cards, that you had, play small pockets or connectors 45o/s - QJo/s
