re: Poker & Noob in need of advice
You can study a ton. However, what really makes you better is putting in hours. You have to play... alot. There are no shortcuts.
Here is what I suggest:
Download Holdem Manager (current version). I don't know what site you play on, but you should be able to find a way to load your hand histories into HEM, and then start gathering data.
Put in at least 10k hands. Then you can post stats, talk about hands, etc.
You can go through all the hands you've played, and get feedback from other members on the line you took, where to improve, etc. Try to find hands where you won or lost large amounts, and study those hands first. Like if you get stacked with AA, put the hand (no results please) on the forum, and get some feedback.
After first 10-15k hands, you go through and look for mistakes. Then, you plug leaks, adjust strategy, etc. Rinse, and repeat, a bunch.
That is probably a good path to take. With online play, you can play a huge volume of hands in a short time.
