The primary difference between no-limit poker and standard limit poker is the structure of betting.

Minimum eligible raise:

The raise amount must be at least as much as the previous bet or raise in the same round. As an example, if the first player to act bets $10 then the second player must raise a minimum of $10 (total bet of $20).

Maximum eligible raise:

All of the chips you have at the table!

There is no cap to the number of raises in No-Limit poker games

The slider that appears when it is your turn to act allows you to select the amount that you would like to bet. At each NL table there is a maximum buy in amount, which are in place in order to ensure that players do not have a sizable advantage because of the size of their bank rolls.

i dont like limit poker too much, ill play it but i prefer no limit. with limit poker u cant get people to fold marginal hands and god forbid you raise the little that you can with aa or kk and someone hits a flush or straight draw. you cant bet enough to get hem off their hand, they will chase chase chase. at least in no limit you can really make em think about chasing that flush or gutshot even with those calling stations.

ye i never play limit because its so bad at micro limits because you cant raise people out of hands because they are so cheap but i guess when i have the bankroll to enter higher limits i might play some limit cos there will be less donkeys and the money will make people think twice about calling.:p:(:):D:eek::p;):mad::):D:p

at the moment i prefer no-limit holdem, because I can read better raises, calls etc., but I am firmly convinced that the method preferred by the majority of great champions is the limit.

In any case, no limit is more psychology

thanks for the update. limit also lets players play more hands and try and catch more cards. it also can help prevent players from losing big pots unlike in nl where players have the ability to use all their chips anytime within a hand.
