Looked at some strategies and such, i dunno if its ok but my playstyle is mostly raise preflop if noone else has, and then fold if it doesnt look good, and assume others have better if i have like decent cards but one low on my hand

I play low NL games win more than I lose but it isnt rly earning me that much often lose what I win fast again

anyone that could give me some tips? small friend tournament next week, im new so need to learn;)

Not near enough info to go on to give advice. Some hands Histories of yours or a lot more details like what you're raising with, in what position and so on so forth will make a big difference in letting us help you.

For starters here's a link to our Strategy Articles

Well what i like to do playing in a tournament is play tight. Only play good hands like A-10 or higher or pocket 7s or higher. It mostly depends on how good the people u are playing are. I've played with people who raise crazy with a/3 off and best way to catch them is to play good hands aggressive most likely they will call if u hit a higher ace. The way i usually win against people who aren't too good is i slow play monster hands, like say i have A/A preflop 4BB raise will most likely get called by some1 unless they are all good players. Well say the flop comes A-3-3 i would check then try to trap hope that the caller has an ace then when he raises just call. Turn comes K check again, most likely he will raise heres where u can reraise him and win most or all of his chips. That should get u all of a rookies chips. Now if you are playing against decent players just play ur hands correctly don't try to get lucky too much and you should do fine.

Poker is all about position. It's more than ok to raise in late position if no one else has, but make sure it's only 3x the bllind. You have to be successful at it at a rate of 2 to 1 to break even. Also, you shouldn't fold if it doesn't look good, you should bet AGAIN!!!, but this time, only half the pot. Keep track of success rate and I'm sure you'll end up ahead.
