Ok, I'm going to try and make this short and sweet. Im 32 with a wife and 3 kids and full time job. Over 10 years experience playing poker but only recently made the decision to take my game to a serious level. I am looking for a mentor. MTT's exclusively. I need someone to either ghost a tourney or go through a tourney hh and give me an idea of where my game is and we can go from there. I don't have a lot of money to invest at the moment because I have a family and ton of bills. My current bankroll on Global is $300. I will also play betonline if needed. I have a HUD that I invested in but cant use on Global. I have $100-150 that i can spare via paypal and willing to negotiate a cut of all winnings to be paid weekly to coach. I have a ton of experience playing so you wont have to hold my hand. Here's what to expect....

  1. Im going to ask a ton of questions.
  2. Nobody will work harder to improve their game
  3. If someone will take a shot on coaching me I will commit to giving him/her 25% of all winnings. Paid weekly via paypal.
  4. I will be playing 3-5 tourneys a night, 3-5 days a week.. Buy-ins will range from $0.50 - $5.50 until BR can handle larger buy ins. Im comfortable playing up to $50 tourneys.
  5. You must have stats/references to back you up. Sharkscope, opr, etc.
Please feel free to comment here for more details.
I look forward to embarking on this journey and making some

I'm for sure not qualified to be your coach, but I am studying the game extensively. Any question you may have I'd be willing to give you what I've found on it or research the answer for you. No money involved. Things like this can benefit me in the form of looking at things that I haven't seen or asking questions I haven't thought to ask. I started studying April 2nd and I've completed 3 books and got through a good portion of the 4th. I'm regularly buying books to understand every style possible. I also watch 10 hand analysis a day from different players. Let me know if there's anything I can help you with

Be patient. There are so many willing and helpful members here and you may not hear back right away from someone.

In the meantime, get used to CardsChat and you may find more information than you might have imagined.

(By the way, personal info was removed from your post to protect you. All members can contact you by PM first)

I'd like to start by wishing you all the luck going possible. I suggest you have a look through the tournament area of CC, and within that area you will find some members with the tag of "Poker Guru" below beside their CC username. (See below).

These are the members who I would recommend you approach first. However, I'm not sure of their availability, or whether they would be good for you.

In the meantime, I think the answer to some of the questions I have posed, may lie within their posts/ threads.

Firstly, I would also advise you to read, and post hands/ situations you have been involved in, and I am sure you will get plenty of good advice.

Good luck !!

With that much experience under your belt you really need to sharpen your game rather than get a coach. Perhaps you should start watching some premium players on twitch and posting some tournament hands/results for analysis. This won't cost you anything. Many times it is better to just keep your money in your pocket.

I've seen lots of people that think a coach is some kind of silver bullet that will help them turn the corner and many times they just end up poorer.

Try to:

1. Learn to be more aggressive with your bets.

2. Learn to "switch gears" and go from tight to loose depending on the situation.

3. See more flops.
4. Learn to fold hands.

These are the major things that hold people back. Slowly adjust your game so you get the results you want.

There is definitely help here. I suggest playing freerolls to get used to poker and the feeling of the posibility of winning real money.

You may be right! I may take that route. It just feels so unorganized and feels like with a coach it may speed up the process a bit honestly. I'm definitely far from a beginner and have already invested tons of time and effort into videos and literature.

If you are still interested in hiring a coach it may take a little time to search one out, keep working on what you know needs work. My personal opinion, I would likely take a little time to look around CardsChat, to see who you might think would be a good fit for you.

Like someone suggested, aiming for some of the CardsChat Freerolls, might be a good place to learn more, too. There is some good poker played in most of the CC Freerolls.
