Hey,
so i just got this cardschat account to ask some of the 'seasoned pros' what their take was on starting bankroll's. I just recently lost my $25(not much i know) at pokerstars and decided that wasn't enough money to do anything with. I am asking you all because i have seen so many different ideas on what to buy in with, so i will ask for me.
I am planning to play the .05/.1 blinds and nothing more than $2(maybe $3) on sitngos and tourneys. What is a good starting bankroll to have so that i can not get too caught up in short fluctuations in my bankroll?

Thanks in advance for the help
-Ben

If you're going to be playing 5c-10c no limit hold'em, you'll need at least $250. I'd be more comfortable with $300.

Thanks. Is that just a comfort thing or do you have rules about having a particular amount aside (% wise) in your bankroll when you sit down to a table.
Also, how much would you recommend sitting down with at these 5c/10c tables?

Sorry if I am bombarding you with questions here

You should always try to sit down with the table max when you play cash games. I think its $10 for those stakes.

Depends. Short-stacking (~3-4$ at 10$ NL) is often a good way to start out playing ring games. It makes your turn & river decisions a lot easier (because you're committed), and you don't have to worry about not stacking off with top pair.

But if your turn & river play is good, and you're only playing a few tables (so you can get good reads), sitting down with the max is way more profitable.

Oh, and usually the rule of thumb is that you need 25 buy-ins for your stake level. But I'd prefer more if I was just starting out.
