re: Poker & New to Community
Welcome to CC. There's one thing I'd like to point out that. while it may seem minor, really isn't. Because of the fee and rake that players pay, we are, as a group, always at a disadvantage. For example, in a 10 seat $1.10 SNG, the players put in a total of $11, but the payouts only total $10. So all together, the players are at a 9% disadvantage.
A key difference between poker and slots
et al is that in other games, you play against the house which always has a mathematical advantage and thus wins in the long run, whereas in poker, you play against the other players, not the house. This means that if you have enough of a skill advantage, you can still overcome the fee / rake and come out ahead.
