im not really new at playing poker , i have been playing about 3 years now maybe more but my mistake in playing poker i dont look around what other types of gane they offer like tournament games , only to understand after i lost all my money that i should have played at the tournaments cause you can win much more from there and risk only the buy in but its too late now i just charged it to ecperience.
so what i want to say to the beginners is to browse and pick your game and dont just stick on the real money tables but also play in the buy in tournies too.

Try freerolls first and build up a bankroll from there
after you made enough try the 9 man sngs or more man
if you whant and you can build you bankroll from there
and get your self experience and if your think your ready to play better
try some higher stakes games
but keep in mind always watch your br to not spend to much cash :)

i generally dont prefer sngs, but they definitely are supposed to be good steady bankroll boosters...i generally prefer mtts...i feel the risk reward ratio there is better for tight play

U can learn a lot more from a cash game that a tourney ....although I started playing (live) cash games first and got broke everytime ,I improved very quickly .I believe u shouldn't worry about losing money (u can afford of course)when u start and focus more on your game.

yeah herlis is right, when i started i didnt read up about online poker at all and didnt know anything about sngs for example. new players need to know about tournaments and sngs also to increase their ability to win more money. through MTTs and SNGs, players also gain new experience and a better understanding for all around play

Yeap i agree that the only safe and sound way is to begin with tournaments, specially with freerolls, and after building up a reasonable bankroll then passing on the next stage of the SNG.

During your first passes through this incredible world of poker, you should avoid ring games because they're a world apart.

Another tip is to narrow down the poker rooms you play in to 1 or 2,at the beginning at least, because another influencing factor is the room RNG.
Some rooms tend to favor flushes more often than others and by that matter straights e.t.c so before make a move you must know, whether the combination of cards that will make you win, come there often or not...
