Last couple of free rolls I have bee in I keep running into a BIG problem that I cannot seem to shake or get around.
Last night was horrible.. So much so I just wanted to puke RIGHT onto my keyboard.
Here is the major issue.. several times last night during a " merge " 200 dollar free roll I ran into at least 1 or 2 morons at a table who were pushing all in every hand or every other hand... Fine I think to myself... If I hit 10 10 or better I will call but that never came.. The first couple of tables they ended up getting out ( thank god ) so then I made my chips stack right back up even being for the most part card dead.
So heere I am sitting on about 3800 worth of chips being the chip leader on the table about in 1500 place out of 3000 or so. In comes donk 3 and starts his or her shit again... All in all in all in all in ... every stinking hand or every other hand .. now blinds are around 150 -300 mark.... lot of people ready to go out and this moron is just chipping away at my stack. After awhile I am down to about 1800-2000 mark and blinds are about ready to go up.. o btw did I mention that this idiot sucked out on almost every person he went up against ?? it was sick.. at any rate I made the push with AK and even then we ended up chopping with 2 pair A and 6 on the board.. sick ! he had A 9 ..
Ok moving along.. later in the tourney the blinds have gone up and some more lowr chip stacks have moved to our table.. my chip stack is back down AGAIN because of this idiot.. so I finally get a hand 99 ... I push this time and he calls with A9 and hits a set of AA on the river and turn..
Seriously.. what the heck do you do with someone like that. I waited and waited on putting him on a good hand and finally after waiting on long enough and knowing what he is calling with I shoved with a PP and he stick donks out and hits.
Suggestions on how to overcome a idiot who is shoving all the time ??

i think you did what you can. in the freerolls well over the mojority are gonna be very loose crazy players . you waited for a good hand and got it in good unfortuantely he was fortunate enough to hit a suckout but thats poker. just keep your head up and if you play good and keep putting it in with the best hand then there isnt much more you can do
Keep ya head up

Yeah freerolls are like that, more so in the beginning than in the end. If you can hang in there til the 1st break or better the donk play is mostly over or at lease to a minimum. You did the correct thing in my book, wait on a good hand and get it all in. UL in this one but you will win this hand more times then he will in the future so dont feel too bad. GL

Note: Continue to work hard and get ur post up and apply to join CC freerolls, we dont play like that!

How did you chop when you had a king kicker? The only way that could chop is if a K hit the board to give him the same kicker-And if that happened you got A's and K's????

So it was two pair but no ace on the board, so you both had two pair with an ace kicker?

Ok I think I have myself confused on this one.. I am checking the history but I cannot find that stinking hand.. I know I had A with a good kicker suited and he pushed with A something off. We both ended up with 2 pair on the community cards. I apologize sometimes I am not that good at explaining myself .

Ok I stand corrected and was way off. Must have been tilting and read it wrong at the time.
I had AJ and he pushed all in with A 10. He said we chopped and without even looking at it much I just took his word for it. That is NOT the case. I doubled up. This guy was talking trash the whole time and I had about 4 tables going at once. WOW .. I missed that one. At any rate.

Seriously, why are you so fixated on players who are shoving every single hand? I don't understand it. Are they affecting your game that much? Does their shoving affect the hands you get? Does their 'getting lucky and winning' really matter? Did you get a message saying that it's your job to take out these 'donk shovers'? That your soul purpose in this tournament is to wait for big hands to play against these players?

No.

So, stop worrying about them. On a 9 handed table and 2 players are shoving..there are 6 more players for you get your chips from. You don't have to take it upon yourself to beat these players. If you dont have a hand against them, fold. If you do, get it in and hope it holds up. Other than, stop worry about them. Pretend they arent even there.

Now, if they're on your button and you're a blind, then yeah-that is irritating but you're going to have to take stand at some point.

As NEWTDOG said, I find I do better only playing premium hands for the first hour, let the donks knock each other out. After that the play seems to level off and become more normal. I am no expert as I have never cashed in one of those donkaments but have made it into the mid double digits a few times.
I did manage to come in 6th in the horse one once, but I think that is mostly due to the fact that alot of players have no clue how to play all of the games involved.
Good luck

I am not fixated on them ... irritated yes but when your not getting ANY decent hands and this guy is shoving every freaking hand and I do mean every freaking hand you cant get chips from anyone else. thats my problem.. if it was every other hand or something I would make a play on the others.

I have been playing Betonline.. almost every hour.. but the prize pool is soo low I am wondering if that is why people are being idiots.. Other than that Merge Network.

Yes, I know in the Minted Poker "steps" freerolls; its a shove fest in steps 1-2; but mostly because traffic is so low us freeroll grinders in those steps just want to see the steps vouchers get spread out faster so that steps 3-6 fill quicker. . .

freerollers have no investment other than time and so take the attitude of 'who cares'. . .o well. . .

the CC rolls seem like they would be a major test of patience...
