I am a recretional SNG player (2 hours per day on average) since 2010. I don't know if I should continue to focus on improving my game at SNG or focus on cash games.

I have the following stats on my games since last year until now (facing some bad results this year):

Total Games Played: 1036
Average Stake: $3
Average ROI: 11%
Total Profit: $212

72% of my games played are at $3.40, 19% at $1 buyin level and 4% at the $5 buyin level. This is at regular blinds speed.
I am not very satisfied with these results, I feel I can have better results, I am on that point if I should leave the SNG games that I enjoy a lot and is where I have the most games played.

I need some winning player who has been here and knows what I mean and to share some friendly advice or thoughts to speed up my confidence.

Thanks in advance to anyone.

ROI of 11% if you have only played 1036 games is awesome. I would stick with SnGs.

IMO

I agree, I play sit n go's and would love a ROI of 11%, there is nothing to be unhappy about in your results, well done:)

Thanks guys for the encouraging words, feeling better.
The 11% ROI is average and not total, anyway perhaps you are right, it is decent. But most of that ROI comes from the last year (669 games played in 2010 with a 18% ROI on 9 man regular blinds). This year I am -1% ROI on 367 games, that's why I am being so negative about my game.

Anyway, I am watching a SNG video to put more confidence and I appreciate you guys positive feedback.

I am a SNG grinder (losched16 on Full Tilt). Throughout my journey I have ventured in and out of cash game play, but always found myself coming back to the SNGs. It is where I am comfortable and where I built my bankroll.

However, many of the guys playing at the high stakes games started at the SNGs then transitioned into cash and the rest is history. So there are certainly plenty of success stories about guys moving from SNG to cash. It is all about what you are comfortable with. If your ROI is in the double digits, that is great. You will have no problem continuing to build your roll.

If you transition into cash games, give it a serious shot, not just a day or two. Whatever your bankroll is, make sure you use good bankroll management (20-50 Buyins), and compare your results. If your biggest concern is simply what will provide you with the most money, then you are going to need to compare your SNG ROI with your cash game BB/100 (after at least 30K+ hands). Also look at your hourly rate. But if you want to play what you are most comfortable with, then you will have to be the judge of that after you get some cash game hands under your belt.

I hope this was helpful as I found myself asking the same questions as you are now.
