Hey so I've been playing poker for quite a while and have always managed to break even, maybe even squeeze out a small profit. But the last few months I've started really studying the game and seem to have been doing worse.

I have attached some of my stats for my last 16k hands or so and was wondering if anyone can see any serious leaks in my game. If theres more stats that are needed I'll post them on here. Thanks

If all the hands you played went to showdown then you would be in the green. This means that the you're losing your money by folding pots where you've been invested in. I would look back at your hands and see if you have been keeping the pots small when you have a small hand.

Your flop cbet% of 59.6% is too low for a 19/15. Other than that, nothing seems out of line. I would look at stats by position and add steal%, fold flop vs cbet, flop raise cbet, bet river%, and add $ (EV adjusted) to check for one measure of variance.

If this is not variance, my guess is that it is some combination of leaking too much money in pots you lose by peeling a street then folding later in the hand and not betting enough when you have the best hand. If the above stats do not reveal any glaring leaks, the next step would be to filter for 3bet pots.

thanks for the replies, so I looked up the rest of the stats you were suggesting and here's what I came up with.

obviously I'm losing a ton from the blinds which I'm having significant issues, especially when I steal from the sb and either get called or reraised. Any more input and advice would be greatly appreciated.

Just as a disclaimer, don't rely rely too much on stat overviews. Stat analysis is a good way to plug glaring leaks but it's more of a fix than an improvement to your game. Your preflop game looks solid so your problems probably lie post flop. Posting some hands in the Ring Game Hand Analysis forum where you were unsure about what to do would probably be beneficial to you.

... and on to some stat analysis:

1. Tighten up post flop up in the SB. Your WTSD of 24% in the SB is too loose for a 28/18 (and your W$SD of 47% pretty much confirms this).

-It's okay to check/fold a bad flop when you get your steal attempt called (though you should still be cbetting a decent number).
-If your steal attempt is raised by the big blind, just fold your trashy hands even if it's just a minraise. If you have a lagtard behind you who you don't know how to deal with, switch tables (or tighten up except on the button).
-Don't take those top pair no kicker type hands too far, especially in multi way pots. It's okay to bet out on the flop and check/fold the turn to a big bet. You are out of position and have reverse implied odds working against you.

2. Bet more on the river. Bet river% of 22% is way too low. There are very few people who bluff raise the river at 10nl. Hand reading becomes essential here. When you think you have the best hand the majority of the time, bet! The river is when the bets are the largest and where the money is made at the micro stakes.

3. Don't call preflop with the intention of playing the flop passively (fit or folding, taking check/call check/call lines, etc). It's hard to tell because the raise flop cbet (sorry it wasn't flop raise) is missing but a flop fold vs cbet of 64% is too high making me think that you are giving cbets too much credit. Your raise flop cbet% should tell you this, but you should be raising the flop cbet a decent amount of the time should you decide to continue. You can not call preflop raises with the intention of fit or folding the flop except for set mining. The math is generally not there, especially against people who cbet a lot.

One thing that may be of interest for you is to filter for all hands you were not the preflop aggressor and see if you are leaking money (Filter -> More Filters -> Select VPIP = True and PFR = False)

Yup, by looking at those stats, it seems your biggest leak at this point is your defending too much as that is the area where you seem to be losing the most.

There are a lot of great suggestions in this thread!

Follow up to WulyQ's excellent suggestions - it looks like you're completing the sb a lot? If so, make sure you're only completing w hands that have an excellent chance of hitting the flop, or where you're intending to be the aggressor postflop. Tie this idea back to quoted comment above.

Agree with what has been said.

You are playing the blinds way too loosely.

Blinds are EP for the rest of the hand, so your V$IP should be akin to your EP V$IP/PFR.

Looks like you are completing way too much in SB

With Blind play the idea is to minimise losses rather than show a profit so always expect to loose money in the blinds.. just not as much.
