Get comfortable playing less then start gradually increasing tables if that is what you want to do. If you think it is getting tough to handle then start reducing.
As far as being successful is concerned, if you are good at multi tabling then that does not guarantee success. For once there will be more variance. So it's all down to how you play and how you deal with tilt and understand variance. If you are able to tick all the right boxes while multitabling then sure you can make more money quickly. So try it, and see it goes. Noting wrong eith playing 1 table at a time though. You can still be successfull.

Yea i noticed when i started multi-tabling, i was making more money in general. I like to pay attention to betting patterns tho. To me that is extremely important as an edge. and multi-tabling more then 3 for me reduces my ability to do so. But i have to say i make more when i play 3 tables then 1. and i used to strictly play 1. Just make sure your comfortable poker is a game of ebb and flow, shouldn't be hectic. Good luck!

If you have the necessary BR and can cope with fast table pop-ups, then proceed. If youre not comfortable, limit the number of tables just for you to go with the flow. You can adjust size of tables just to fit on your screen.
Goodluck.

Only thing that multi-tabling does is speeds up the process. However, it slightly lowers your win rate compared to playing 1 table. Most people multi-table because let's say for example, your win rate is 3bb/100 but let's say you play 4 tables and found out your win rate 2bb/100 each table. Is this worth the change? Yes bcz if you play 1 table, your win rate during the time it takes to play 100 hands, you won 3 big blinds. But during that same duration of time, if you multi-tabled, then even though ur win rate got lowered for those tables, you multiply that win rate by 4 if you play 4 tables, hence 2 x 4 = 8bb. so you won 8 big blinds during the time it takes to play 100 hands playing 1 table. So if you are a winning player, you can speed up the bankroll building process.

But you must focus on being a winning player first. Multi-tabling comes second. Make sure you're winning at the stake you're playing in while being able to play comfortably.
