As a beginner I don´t like playing poker at multiple tables; I don´t have enough knowledge to do this, I know people that play 4 ,5 6 etc simultaneous table, and I really appreciate that, what about you guys do you think that play like this can be lucrative?

I would like first for you to research what a HUD is. You will NEED it physically you will actually NEED it to cope with more than 3 tables at once. How did I come up with this? The human brain cannot keep track of more than 3 things at once. It can focus on one thing (obviously), set another thing as a distraction and then set a third thing as a thing to focus on between distractions, what it can't do is add a fourth level of focus or thought (even experienced jugglers who can juggle 12 items will agree to this). How you can play at more than three tables is to get a HUD which will keep track of the rate at which people do certain things.

If you really want a good custom HUD that's detailed and things like that, I can recommend DriveHUD. If you enjoy after-game analysis and leak finding etc, I would say PokerTracker4 is the best, if you like pretty graphs and colorful things and still want after-game analysis and will stick only to Hold'em then HoldemManager2 is the way to go (HM2 was bought by the PT4 company so they are the same company just an FYI).

BUT, if you are a beginner as you are, need a really easy to digest HUD that splits up the numbers very beautifully, gives green red adn yellow strengthd ofr tight vs loose and aggressive vs passive as well as letting you easily upload hands in one click then Jivaro is the way to go.

Jivaro only works on pokerstars (PS) and Americas Cardroom (ACR) but is without a doubt the single easiest HUD to pick up and use.

I will recommend this HUD to ALL beginners for rest of my life I am certain that it will last that long. It is simply so brilliant and will boost your ability to multi table very nicely.

I do not yet work for or with Jivaro so this is not advertising but in the future I'd be happy to put massive shares in the company. I adore how simple it is, I believe all player should be armed with Jivaro HUD if they want to multi-table but that if they are interested in a lot of post-game analysis then other options are out there as I've said.

Here I give video:

Enjoy!!!!

The peculiarity of online poker is in the ability to play many tables simultaneously. If you want to be profitable, you will have to learn this. Any significant profit in online poker is done only on "distance". And to get enough distance you have to play many, many hands. Playing multiple tables at once is almost the only way to achieve this.:fight:

I like to play on several tables, I play on 2 and sometimes on 3 tables, and sometimes I get a profit on all the tables, but sometimes I'll lose, you need to be good at playing and you can make good profits on many tables simultaneously, but for a normal game to play well and focus on 1 table!

I play one table when it's the final table. Only at the final table you need to concentrate as much as possible. In most other tournament tables - this is simply not necessary. Most often there is not much that is interesting. At some point, at one table, you will become bored and you will begin to get distracted by extraneous things or start playing too actively, just to take time. :bike:

It depends on how big youre edge over the other players is. I remember a interview with nanonoko were he explained it very well, cant seem to find it right now. I will try to explain it myself.

Lets say you play zoom cashgame, nl5 f.e. and beat your limit with 10bb/100 (Wich is awesome btw :D) you play around 250 hands per hour per table. To make this an easy calculation you play 4h a day 20 days a month. You will see about 20k hands a month generating you around 100$ a month with one table.

Now if you play 4 tables zoom every day your edge wont be as high as you lack the time to think through every hand (witch gets better with practice btw.), lets say 7bb/100. Now you play 4 times as much wich will lead to around 4k hands a day wich is 80k a month. now 80k hands / 100 x 0,35 = 280 $

Thats why people multitable ;)

As Andrew said, if you are sitting at the final table of the Sunday million id rather onetable, because this might be the one big chance for you and you want youre edge as high as possible.

Because you like all beginners were advised to get one , it wasn't some rational thinking on your own part

The next bit is where you have been corrected before and still keep blurting out the same nonsense

Rational Madman hasn't used any of these programs and is talking without any knowledge. The companies behind PT4 and HM2 merged into a single company a couple of years ago , neither of them bought out the other. HM2 and PT4 both have the same graphing abilities and post game analysis abilities and they are basically a case of whichever style you prefer to use.
I've not used DriveHud but it appears to have the same abilities as HM2 and PT4 but for a beginner its fairly cheap to acquire

because it is so limited in what it can do. It is also extremely expensive relative to what it can do and the sites it works on. It will cost a beginner the same to use drivehud for a year as using Jivaro for 2 months.

frankly forget Jivaro , its limited and expensive to use long term. The best advice is to use all of the one month free trials on all the huds you can find and use that time to decide which one is the best option for you.HUDs that i'm aware of are
  • jivaro
  • hand2note
  • xeester
  • drivehud
  • pt4
  • holdem manager 2
Holdem manager 3 is currently being tested in beta and anyone buying HM2 now gets a free upgrade when HM3 is released. HM and PT have typically had a 5 year life cycle before a paid upgrade is required which should be factored in when comparing monthly, yearly subscriptions vs purchase.

LOL .....who is the idiot that went ahead and signed up for $4.99 per month without using all of the free trials and finding out what each programs capabilities are to get 6 months of free hud use and then uses it for play money.

Jivaro- 5 year cost $299.40

driveHUD - 2nl/5nl 5 year cost $28.96
10nl-50nl 5 year cost $60.96

HM2 - 2nl-50nl 5 year cost 59.99 gets a free upgrade to HM3

PT4 2nl -50nl 5year cost 59.99 ( but pt5 will likely be released within 5 years and need further discounted purchase so assume another 50% or ~$100

xeester 2nl-5nl 5year cost 49.95 euro
10nl-20nl 5 year cost 99.75 euro

hand2note 2nl-25nl 5 year cost - free even after trial finishes
-50nl 5 year cost - $449

Explain to me , How jivaro is cheap when you look at the long term costs of using each hud.

do not rush to play for several tables at the same time! First you need to learn how to be a profitable player at least at one table, and if you do, try increasing the number of tables !!! but in any case, do not sacrifice quality for the sake of quantity, it will not lead to anything good !!! you can earn good money and at the same table, the main thing is to learn to reach the final table only at the final table in MTT, you can earn money !!!

I play 3 or 4 (6-max cash) tables at a time. It makes the game a lot more enjoyable since you can just sit out the (many, many) non-starting hands that you'll be dealt. Other than checking the 'fold' box I usually only find myself playing one or two hands at a time.

I do use a basic HUD setup in PT4 to keep track of who's playing (and raising) every hand and who's sitting out most hands. These tables tend to close down quite often (people leave when they win big or lose big), so you don't usually have enough time to get to know many of the players.

And yes, as far as I'm concerned it's the only lucrative way to play lower stakes cash games. Otherwise I'd fall asleep if I only had one table open at a time.

BTW, I don't know that PT4 is any better, or any worse than the others. It just happens to be the one that I bought years ago. They do a lot of free updates so I guess that says something about them.

Why is the first thing thrown at op hud?

Might actually be worth asking if they can actually beat one table first.

I multi table at a poker room that doesnt allow huds, and I do perfectly well thanks.

I feel like multi-tabling can be lucrative. However, too many tables at once will kill your ability to fully concentrate and make the best decisions you can. Personally, I can't multi-table past four because I shift into a very automated play style. As for HUD recommendations, I'd stick with the cheap version of Pokertracker. That is, until you get into the swing of things and feel comfortable.
