Does any one else play better when they multi table a cash game? I tried it tonight as I am mainly a tourney player and I actually came away with a decent proffit this time. with each table combined obviously.

When I play on multi tables I choose one and play more concentrated on it. Usually losing on others. I`m not ulti table player. Sometimes playing on one table is pretty much enough.

A good player will make the right plays no matter how many tables 1- 10.

I can only play two tables max, and that is also very tough to handle for me as my percentage of mistakes does go up. I think it is different for different personalities while for some it is a matter of choice/preference. It is a great skill to have as the more table you can handle the better but few are blessed with it i think.

What is your assertion based on?

I have heard a number of very successful players say that they can only play around 4 tables very well.

There are multi-table grinders out there that can play 24 tables, but I am sure the don't play them as well as they could play at 5 or 6.

the number of notes you can take, the attention you can pay to each players tendencies, and notes that you make are all harder to do at 10 tables than it is at 1.

I think that is one of the reasons you can have a better edge and higher winrate at live poker than you can in online poker.

I can only play 4 tables well at most stakes, If I am playing at 400nl I would only play 1. because the players there are more focused and there are some super good players that can really abuse you if you are not paying enough attention.

That being said, if you are getting bored playing 1 table then you need to pay more attention during hands you are not involved in and should be taking notes. If you can do that well on 1 table, then try 2, so on and so forth. I don't think anyone plays their A game at more than maybe 6 tables.

I play my A game when I am playing 2 tables. 1 table is too boring however if I was playing really high stakes then I'll probably not find it boring. But playing one table at a level where doubling up is hardly a serious event is quite boring. I get almost as much information with 2 tables and its just more entertaining.

Now when we talk about 3 tables is where things start getting hectic instead of it being entertainment. But I am successful at playing 3 tables although I don't particularly enjoy it.

Currently I am trying to get used to 4 tables and its not been easy. It feels really hectic and if you get big hands on more than 2 tables is where it gets really difficult. It almost feels like work but it is true that your appetite for big hands is going to be satisfied in almost every session.

Its also worth noting that I hate tiny tiled tables I want big legit text on my tables. That's why I don't tile 4 tables instead put 2 slightly on top of each other where I can still see cards on all tables at all times. However I still need to click more than once if I want to fold a hand on a table that's currently not the top window and my decision is not visible on the top table if I am acting on a lower one. So this obviously increases the work needed on 4 tables than normal. I feel I need a 32" TV to play 4 tables the way I want to which is to have all tables titled and yet each table has big legible text.

I believe the ideal number is 4 tables. Not for us to be bored.

More than that, you will miss many things.
