Hey guys , I was discussing with a friend today about showing or not a hand when there is the option . Be a hand already won , either in a discarded hand. He believes that you can show the cards to try to confuse their opponents to a different type of game than your usual , but I do not see any advantage to show the cards! How do you normally behave .. hide or show? muck or not?

I always muck the cards
The only time I would show to cards is after i fold before the river just to see the reaction of the villian.

I played with one player who has played very aggressively making big raises. When all gave in, he showed a strong arm. Then he raises and reraises nobody made the call though I think he was bluffing

Muck always. U can show one or another hand when u can put pressure on the other players, but the less information u give is better.

If you show one good hand but you don't show other hands, then they know that's the hand you want them to see. I think it can work on a reverse psychology level, but 99.9% of the time its best not to ilunless you have a really really good reason

I agree. It really is a hand that you want the other players to see . But the reason why you want them to see what is important: is to feel that you are too tight or they think it's a bluffer ? This is the point. I also think it is unnecessary this information the most for any reason .

Showing when you don't have to is giving free information to everyone at the table. Don't do it.

Some people advocate the thesis of "passing incorrect information." But for me the question is to pass information and point, and whenever we can is best to avoid.

And after a while they start to know that when you don't show, you probably didn't have much.

and more importantly they start to know how you play when you have something and how you play when you dont.

id rather show a bluff if i had to pick hands to show, and then play my bluffs the same as i play my good hands

..... but again, if you have any doubt about whether or not you should show your hand at all, dont show it.

If I can, I will on occasion show hands I fold, to give the impression that I play really tight. I usually only do it at a table where the other players are acting like donkeys. I am setting them up for playing later hands so they think I only bet when I have it. But I never show winning hands. Kepp them guessing.

a tight image is never anywhere close to as profitable as a loose image. when played right. if given the option, i want people to think im bluffing so they can call me down when i really have something good.

In live poker its always funny to see someone get called down bluffing, then flipping their cards over and saying "queen high" like they have something.

Hello all,

I usually muck my cards especially when I bluff, but sometimes I choose to show them when I have good hand so they will see that next time I raise could be with good hand

Muck always man, I do not see advantages showing the cards at all. Doing it maybe you can confuse the opponent, but I think that you are showing them your game, and I think this is not gainful.

Sometimes we show cards after ours bluffing just to demostrate how good players we are. For sure it is a big mistake.

Mainly muck.

If you think you can profit in the future by showing, but only to show without knowing why?

Muck.

I don't see reason to be showing the cards to their opponents. Therefore, in my vision is always better avoid give information.

Hello all,

I usually muck my cards especially when I bluff, but sometimes I choose to show them when I have good hand so they will see that next time I raise could be with good hand

But in doing so you are giving some information as what hands you like to play , how you behave with this type of game. I advise you to never show .
