I'm currently doing the Donkr PLO bankroll Management challenge where you turn $250 into $7000. The question I have is when you're moving up in stakes, should it be bankroll dependent where you've earned enough money to move to the next level? Or win rate dependent where in addition to being properly bankrolled to go the next level, you'very shown a consistent win rate to show that you're ready to move on?

I thing the guideline is when you have the bankroll to move. However, Only move up if you feel like you can compete with the players at the higher stake. It's pointless moving up if you get beat constantly. You'll lose your money that way. Good luck!

Why move up if you have a consistent win rate at that level ???

You rather stay and enjoy while it last.

Jollucks....so basically it's alike dependent on how you think you would fare against the players at the next level that determines whether or not you move up or not? If you think you have a firm grasp of what to expect at the next level and how to handle it then move up. If not, then stay where you are and continue to dominate.

Look at the stakes.. double the bigblind.. so if its 1/2 ..
4 is the cost to play a hand

then divide your bankroll by 50 if you cant play 50 hands at the cost..Then stay
on your table.. you can also reverse this operation.

IF its 5/10 Stakes.... 10*2 = 20 20*50= 1000 if your bankroll is 1000 play the 5/10 table. So on..

Choosing the table is important as well... typically the table with less players is going to increase your profit rate...
If you sit at a table with 5 seats.. your odds of winning are 1/5 vs 1/8
Set a goal to either double up or meet the cost to play for the next stakes table available.

If for some reason you fall below half of your buyin.. it's a good Idea to re-evaluate your situation and demote yourself (showing control is important.. if doubling up means breaking even.. you're doing something wrong)...
Once you start making money initially you will see a trend of going way up. loosing a little.. going way up.. loosing a little going way up...
That's my 2 cents to add to your $250
If you do this in theory you could go from 250 to 7000 safely in about .. 40-100 hands.

Exactly. If you're not going to make more money in the next stakes then what's the point? You could try a few hands a stake higher, if you fare ok then move up, but if you lose your buy-in, quit for the day or move down stakes.

Just did this challenge with play money on carbon poker..

It took me 63 hands to go from $200 - $8,734

I lucked out and tripled up from 170 at a 1/2 table = 510
I figured since on carbon there is no 2/4 table I would risk it and go to the 5/10 table.. I doubled up there a couple of times and about 12 hands in on the 25/50 I doubled up again :)

so yeah Im sure there are ways to do this faster, but I never bust.. so Im happy with the outcome.

It's a little easier of course to do this on small tables because there are many fish on these tables on Carbon.. just a heads up.. If we're talkin real money it might be a slower pace to do this because people are more conservative.

Play Money challange is nothing compare to real Money one.. but still you can find huge loads of fishes in real Money as well who loves to gamble ..make a proper plan like how many buyins you Need in your BRM..100 or 200 or 500 buyins .. then Play at same Level till you reach a same Kind of buyins in next Level .. and ya if you lose half buyins in that up Level , you Need to Level down again to lower stakes .

win, win, win at the BI your are used to, then take a shot at the larger buy in. Success ? > take another shot, Phail? > go back to where you win.

Rinse and repeat until you feel comfortable at the bigger game.

I think if your aim is improve your skill, then you can use a portion of your bankroll, just like 3% to play at a higher level, just a mini buyin, then you can feel that, if you keep winning, then continue of course, but if you lose, then com back lower level at once.

You need to be very comfortable at your current stakes. Build a good bankroll. Let's say you already have 80-100 buyins at your current stake, try to move up a notch. If you feel good at the higher stakes, it's nice. If not, move back down and play more.
