Hi all,

I live in the US and here the rules for online poker are very tight. Has anyone seriously considered moving to New Jersey? I live in New York so It's not that crazy of an idea for me.

It's not right now. I guess I can commute to Manhattan and start making the dream happen. It just seems like there are so many more opportunities there.

How would I do that? Is it possible to have a corporation and use that name as the login to the poker sites? I would love to go do another country but have no idea how to do it. Canada is a wonderful place to live!

Try on site of Canada Embassy. Live? I heard they opened some casinos at the airport of NY. Because airport don't obey the laws.

you would be better off comming to canada and play in the global prize pools , NJ is just NJ players not the global pool. You can be in Canada for 6 months of the year before you have to go back to usa on passport.

I wonder if you could just get a residence in NJ and play in NY? You could easily rent a room cheap in NJ.

Do you physically have to use a NJ ip address or do you just need a valid account?

I"m sure someone's tried it....

Yep. If I went to a Starbucks for a couple hours in NJ but then went back to New York to sleep, is this OK? I'm going to figure it out today! I'll keep you posted.

You can. You can live anywhere but need to be within the state of NJ to play!

Cool. Wait, what? Starbucks? No! Public wi-fi isn't safe. Use some software at least to protect your wi-fi. Unless you don't care about stealing. And not only your blinds.

To access the internet, I use my cellphone which picks up a signal from NJ. I just use Starbucks to sit down and drink coffee :)

I would think a problem would be to set up and verify an account in NJ. Most sites want a utility bill (or some proof) not just playing in the state. How would you get around that so you can cash out?
