Is microstake a good way for beginner to practice?
I'm new to playing poker with real money
, I have always known how to play, but just socially with friends or play money. So I read some books and played on the computer with play money (Huge waste of time, doesn't help you practice, probably just makes you worse). I had to eventually start playing with real money so I made a bovada
account and put 50 in it. I started at microstakes and could only make like $1 an hour on one table playing tight aggressive. One of the things I've noticed though is that people almost always call you to the river. For example if I'm playing ak and my opponent is playing j5 and the flop come 5 8 k I'll put in a large bet because I just want him to fold. Then theyll just reraise me or go all in so I call them because I think I have the best hand but they hit their jack on the draw or the river. It's stuff like this that happens alot and the dollar it took me an hour to make is know gone. Am I wrong, are my opponents just playing good poker, or is microstakes just a nofoldem game. Also, how much money in 1 hour do you think you would make playing microstakes on 1 table.
