I didn't see one so I figured I'd make one. I just cashed out so now I'm playing the $1.75 18s on PS. If anyone would like to talk about their strategies for micro SNGs or just give updates on how we are all doing I think this could be a very helpful topic.

Nice to see someone created a thread for us all to talk in. I'm currently playing $3.25 turbos 6-max on Tilt. Payouts are 1st: 11.70 and 2nd: 6.30.

Pretty fishy so i'm 20% roi right now.

I started writing a small strategy guide talking about how I react when i'm not top 3 in chip stacks, i'll post it up here after I tweak it tonight.

I almost hate to repeat this because it has worked well for me, but since I saw it here, I'll share it with more players here.
Basically the thread said to WAIT, BE PATIENT, and BE PATIENT. Don't force anything at the micros cause some donk will call you down. I mostly play just the $1 single table s&gs. (poor bankroll management)
I play 1 or 2 tables at a time. Once I cash in a few, I'll dump about a 1/3 to 1/2 in a trny every once in a while or a couple of higher s&gs. Not
good BR strategy but I don't ever bust out completely. Anyway, just sit back and wait for your hands. DON'T bluff unless you're already in the money. Only chase if you're getting really good odds. (100 in pot, 5 limpers, open ended draw, donks will min. bet 20. that kind of thing) That and there will always be a player hanging around that is too tight and timid and you can read like book. FIND them ASAP and take advantage of them when you get around the bubble. It will pay off big time. Even if it only gets you a couple bucks, a win is a win.

Was thinking of starting one of these myself.

R.O.I of 8% stuck at the dollar games, thinking of going back to mixing some 18 man games in, keep trying the 3 dollars and getting nowhere.

Honestly I need to start playing less because I play a bit and spend my time surfing while playing and thats not good, plus there has been crap load going on im life so I know I am not concentrating because I start getting cannotfolditis or start making jazzy bluffs on players that will call 3rd pair till either I or they have no chips.

Maybe the answer is to add another table (I only play 2 at a time) plus I am not studying at all which is a waste because I have both Shaws and Moshmans book, I have been trying to loosen my range up late game and go for the win but I have had mixed results with that.

Anyway look my chart up on sharkscope just to see how many games I have played for relatively little profit, although I am happy making a profit in my first year playing I have sort of stalled this year. I play at pokerstars because I enjoy their software and promotions. Would be intresting to hear other stories and I know there is a few players plying low to mid stakes on the site I hope they can post a little too.

Maybe this should be a monthly thread like the mtt and micro grinder one just seems easier to follow and catch up if you miss a few weeks.

Cool idea for a thread.

poster above with Moshmann's book... READ IT!! I guarantee it'll take your winrate up considerably.

I prefer playing mostly MTTs and am pretty much a reg. in the C.C. games now. I like those tourneys but... when I'm not able to play one I will occassionally play a few SNG sessions (sorta goes in cycles).

I used to run pretty much break-even >> +5% and when I first started out I would play a mix of different SNG's (some 18's, some turbos, occassional 6-plyr., some 45's, etc.). Looking back I wished I'd just stuck with one type and then really worked at it and personally I wish I'd chosen 9-plyr SNG's from the get go.

I'll review some stuff (ie. like Moshmann's books or some great articles I've got saved on my puter & printed up) and then sometimes get inspired to play a handful of them (sngs). I usually only play 2-tables at a time as I'm not really interested in trying to increase my hourly rate and have more fun just trying to play to win every single game I can. If my bankroll increases a bit.. hey.. great!

I played a stretch of Turbos at the start of the year, in hopes of improving my push/fold game and found that helpful (I'd also read a couple of good articles on playing turbos and was following some threads by some SNG grinders who were grinding it out in the $16's >$33's on Stars.. way above my buyin level but all great stuff to learn from).

Just recently I've been playing some micro SNG's, reg. speed on Fulltilt and have been running pretty good lately. Usually only playing a few per day. Most recent stretch I had 12 cashes in 15 games which was cool.

You might find me on Fulltilt in either the $5's or $10's 9-plyr SNG's. (DeepchapChopra).... sometimes the $6 & $11's Turbos.

I think getting a group of micro SNG players together here to discuss HH's and play would be cool & know that it's a great way to improve upon one's game (always good to hear another's viewpoint on a hand or to learn from other's experience on the tables).

Is anyone on here a regular 45-plyr. SNG player? I've heard that those games can be quite profitable once you hone your strategy/skill in them.

Im not a regular in the 45 turbos on stars but I do often play them at the $1.10 level. After 131 games I made $108.40 in profit with an ROI of 75%. Small sample and I probably won't win another one now that I have posted this but they are very profitable if you get your pushes with less than 10 BBs down.

I have read the book Kill Everyone and it has a big section on this topic and I highly recommend it.

As to the question RE: $1.75/18 player games, first is $10.80, 2nd is $8.10, 3rd is $5.40 and 4th pays out $2.70. If you make it to the final table, don't push as wide as you would in a 45 turbo with a short stack since patience is key when dealing with loose players that infest this game.

Im lucky enough to have sngWiz and its a big help in improving my game.

Im going to focus on the single table games, maybe the regular speed instead of the turbo version but I always bounce around.

Feel free to post a hand if anyone wants some feedback.

I've got some great DoN's strategy articles. if you're interested just pm me and I'll send you the links.

I've spent some time on some super turbo 300chip starting stacks recently because I have a few friends who are actually building up bankrolls from them. I've seen some guys playing them that have actually qualified for the Ironman $30k. One guy last night.. played over 28,000 supes and was up $19K.

might post this here as it will get more appreciation.

4 games - 4 Cashes.
doesn't happen often but damn its good when it does
3 wins, 1 2nd
Ring players don’t seem to understand that this is quite an accomplishment

please give me details on this! lol

Okay so I've just started hammering out some SuperTurbos on Fulltilt, just hitting the $7's right now but doin' okay. My partner (peach68) is hammering them out the past few days (maybe 75+ games) on the $7's & $14's (the play is far better as you move up in buyin levels.. I find the $3's tougher to beat than the $7's) - - this is push/fold/call lighter (in some circumstances) to the extreme, lol. She's been running on avg. at around ROI +20% and has picked up $250 profit so far.... hmm.. not too bad but not for the faint of heart (sp?).
I've got a stat. tracker running alongside my tables and am discovering around 3to4 regs. on each table, who are all making money, the rest of the players >> losing obv.

Ok so I'm not promoting SuperTurbos as 'the thing to play'... but am doing a bit of an experiment with them after witnessing some friends profitting decently in them. If you like high blind bubble play in Turbo Sng's... the supes are fun, lol (Adrenaline action junkie material).

For others checking out this thread and wishing to check out a handful of decent Sng Strategy articles, I've got piles of them but I'm pretty sure I don't have links for most of them as I've mostly just cut&pasted the actual articles onto WordPad. Maybe I could take the time to find the links for them and then learn how to post them in a list with titles on them (as opposed to just the actual addresses). There are some awesome ones in there.

SONIC589;1211252] <<< just ask this guy,...he's seen a handful of them
(not the 'best' ones of course... can't give away all the secrets, lol).

Colin Moshmann book is a great read too for anyone interested in SNG play. As mentioned above by another poster.. SNG Wiz will also improve your game a ton.
GL on the tables!!

TY.

FWIW its worth guys, I recently signed up with SnG Grinders schoold for 3 months and have been going through their training vids and forums. Best money I've ever spent. Thier trainers all have at least 30K games under their belt and tens of thousands in profits. If anyone here is serious how making good money in SnGs check them out just be sure to drop my name ;)

I video I saw of "Glitlr" played 5 games at the same time, cashed in them all.

How is everyone doing this week?

Well with four games to go I have 380 points on the Planets leaderboard and I need to win them all to get on the leaderboard I would say. This week I started playing again after taking it easy on the poker and it made a difference, I was playing terrible, calling when I know I am beat trying to bluff unbluffable players playing to many hands etc.

I am trying to work towards moving up, If I hadnt withdrew then I probally would have by now but at least I am freerolling now with profits.

Got a 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th last games and hit 477 points on leaderboard for a 12th place. Expecting to start falling down the leaderboard from tomorrow, was down to four players in my last when AKs went down to AJo, pretty gutted would have liked to get over the 500 point mark.

I wish DoN's had leaderboards. Summary of my week = a 17 buy-in upswing, an 11 buy-in downswing, then a 16 buy-in upswing. Would have had a perfect 10/10 session if I didn't get QQ cracked by ATo.
