One of the great quality of a good poker player is the metagame knowledge, knowledge beyond the cards. Playing personally , several variables can be observed, such as breathing, look , pulse, shake , etc. But when the game online , would like to discuss with you some tips to improve my metagame in poker sites , since the only variable now I can see clearly is the value of bets and response speed. (Excuse me English flawed)

Online are many players, just playing metagame several times with the same user to know how your playing style, or using programs that already store all this information = D

yeah, it is tough looking for tells online, many people think that time spent to make a decision is a key component, but mostly this is a terrible thing to think. It can be anything, and unless you can be 100% sure there is no issue with opponents, or your, computer or internet then you should never EVER use this as a tell.

The only thing you can do is put them on ranges and go from there. Tough to do on Bovada.

Today I was playing multiple tables and cooking at the same time. Other players will not be able to know this, so using my slow reaction speed might be a totally misleading tell.

I agree with you! But when I say watch the response time is not only the issue of delay. Sometimes some players with good hands end up responding very fast, so the response time is a nice point of note in the online game .

Truth. It would be a misreading . But if someone watching you for a long time , just getting to see a pattern. Or not! haha
But it is a remarkable point on the internet , I wonder if there are others that I never I heed me .

For on-line play, I think one of the best tools for metagame is the player notes function. Where possible, establish as best you can your opponents ranges. What hands are they most likely to play? Make notes of this. Do they have established betting patterns? This is more than bet sizing. It can also include bet timing. Also note when they play hands. Do they play every hand, or do they only play from position?
And what about you? Do you have patterns that other players can pick up on?
Some players have no pattern, and you may find them tough to play. Make notes on them and act accordingly.

Make notes of this.
I do use this tool a lot, but 50% of the times when I change tables in an MTT, this doesn't work anymore. Just get another name of someone else at the table if I double click (or right click and select 'make a note') to make a note on someone. Then when I search the right person in the list, I am able to type something, but it will not be saved. Do more people have this problem, or is it just me?
Sorry to be a bit off topic here.

I'm a micro player, so I play against a lot of noobs and against some regular players, some are better, some are worse. But the thing is, they repeat their action.

An example:
In a heads up pot against those regular players, the majority will tend to check/call flop if they have a strong hand (slow play) and will c-bet turn

In pots against weak players, they tend to overbet when get good hands, but some tend do bet all-in when they are desperate for chips

Some regulars will have against me the same lecture I have against them. So, you need to know who they are, probably you and he have already played a heads up pot in the same table or in other, he will be problably have a crescent profit in sharkscope. If you found him, so you're 1 step and can make more 3-bets and shove against him. :)

Time taken to make a decision used to be a 'tell' people used to use, but now days as Abramo stated you could be at home doing anything taking longer to make a decision so this isn't a good read to go by. If someone is snap clicking decisions then you can maybe tell they are not thinking about each decision properly as they are snap clicking so they might not be as experienced or in depth thinker than most.

Using pokertracker 4 created notes for you and you can add your own notes which save to your hard drive, ive seen some players having problems with in game note taking not saving. partypoker doesnt save for me in game.

Yeah, isn't good to use time as factor decision. Especially because people that play online are typically in 5+ tables at the same time '-'

The bad thing is that when they update the program we end up losing the notes too.

I might get that myself later, but for now, as a beginner, it is quite expensive.
