I play LHE 6-Max and i dont know what to do with the low medium pocket pairs when i get them in early position. Im talking about 6's 7's 8's. Anything lower and i fold them and anything higher I raise them UTG but I dont know what to do with the low mediums. Should I raise and if i get called and hope I flop a set? This kind of sounds like the best thing you can do unless it is a loose game. If I got raised I would prolly call and check fold the flop.

Fold or limp. If you limp and get a raise then depending on the size of the raise and/or who made it and also how many called that raise before you, you can decide your next play.

Limit is very time consuming and difficult to win large profits unless people just suck soo bad they call everything. Most of the time mid pairs are good considering they hold high cards and hope to hit... but any 2 cards ppl will play in limit making decisions more difficult. I play limit and made small profits, but I start to get bored playing limit. Low stakes limit = eveyone to flop and most to river. High stakes would be the ticket if you can control yourself and play wise.

Just want to concur with Chazilton. I play low level limit a a fair bit and I never raise with mid pairs in early position usually but limp or fold. At higher stakes I'm sure it would be quite different.

This is why I only play 6-Max typically even in the looser games there is rarely more than 3 people going to the flop, esp to a raised pot.

With 6's,7's,and 8's are pretty deacent hands to play . Knowing the fact that you can hit trips and use it for Semi-bluffs . Depending on the table , to limp, raise,or fold . but them mid pairs do some damage if played correctly .

6 handed Limit,,,9's and up, I'll raise UTG.
Limp with 8's and lower hoping to see a flop for that price. Call a raise but not a re-raise.
And at a very loose and aggressive table, I'll fold them UTG, because 9 out of 10 times there will be a raise, with callers or reraisers.

In limit I would either limp or depending on other players raise if I thought I could get a few guys to fold and get them out of the way.

it all depends on your opponent. if you have a jackal behind you, then u can limp in so that he will raise you and then a big re-raise will be good. if not, you can do a small raise that is actually a defensive bet so that the pot is kept small. depending on the flop, if you hit a set or the flop is all smaller cards, another raise would be able to take down the pot

I haven't played much LHE but i'd definitely raise with mid pairs if I have position.

This'll allow me to continue raising after the flop if I flop a monster (As there's not a lot of trapping in LHE)

In low stakes limit games is probably that you get a lot of suckouts, so it´s better to limp the medium pairs and see what happens with the flop.
