Hi klito.
well .. that's a lot for the players, I think in tournaments it's safer, but I know players that go well in the cash game. See where it best fits your type of game and good luck. remember that the shortest route is not always the easiest.
We are together.

It's not easy in cache and tournaments. But I agree that in tournaments it is safer.

I find that I make much more (overall) playing in tournaments than cash games. I'm better at the strategy for tournaments and in cash games I'll make good money in a few hands but it's the waiting & getting good hands that don't play that burns me out.

I prefer tournaments, I like them more, although, frankly, I played very little in cash games, maybe if I paid more attention to the cash game, I would also like this game !!! I play tournaments not because they bring me profit, but because I like playing in tournaments !!!!

Cash is tougher, but less dispersing. You can win some money every day. In tournaments you can lose in a row 40 BI's, then after three months of a unprofitable game win 300 BI's.

Yes, I agree that it is safer to play in tournaments, and in cash games you have to start winning well - you need to have a normal bankroll - and play at a rate of 0.5 - 0.10 cents and above, and if you play at small stakes then it's also possible to win, but it's long and hard, for me it's better to play tournaments and wait and win!

cash is more rentable.. have to study!.. If you value your time, it is best to play cash games, in tournaments you can spend hours to just earn 100% of what you put, in very few occasions you could reach the final table if there are more than 1000 players

MTTs for me. Play smart. Cheaper buy ins normally, less risk. When you do make Final table and when you win it is great.

STTs and cash tables can be steady money makers. MTTs, especially the big ones, have a LOT of variance. What can you do when your AA loses to 22 after six hours of play? Can't fold, can't change the direction of the stars in the sky.

The question is incorrect. You have to play there where you feel comfortable and you often win. Where do you get a profit. To each his own.

that depends from your game and your own style. For some people cash game are more profitable, for some is tourny. If you just starting in the poker and do not have any experience, try to learn as much as you can, i.e. start reading some strategy articles on top of the page here on the forum, start playing few freerolls and low lvl games, and find your game.

I like tournaments but there is not always time to be gone all day to hopefully win a few bucks.

In cash games you can make cash fast but can lose it fast too. In the tournament format, it takes time to cash in it, unless its a bounty games then its all about the knock outs. I think it depends on what you want to invest in money verses, the amount of time invested. Say you play cash game .10/.25 bring in is 25 bucks. You can play a five dollar rebuy tourney and try to build stack playing loosely firing more then one bullet. How long will the tournament take to make it to money? How long after money bubble bursts does the pay out actually double or triple your buy-in? Do I want to play for possible five hours just to min cash? These are all questions you should ask yourself before you play.

If you are skilled and hence want to loser variance then cash games. If you want to win big and lack skills then tournaments. Cash games are boring and extremely predatory I learned my lessons as I can't afford to lose $1,400 in one hand. No cash games for me.

This really depends on the player and their style. ( some people may even ask the opposite " Which will let me lose less money")

If we want to assume your skill level is the same at both, I would recommend cash games as a steady income base. Tournaments will give you the big hits, but cash games are a more consistent grind.

Cash games – is the choice of most players who earn poker for a living. Cash games give much more opportunities to earn money than any other form of poker.
In tournaments you can also receive a stable profit, but it will require you to draw a much larger number of hands/games.
