Hi

i play quit a lot lately...and i started to lose systematically on pokerstars...

i know i have good hand selection pre flop, i bet a most of the flops..but what i find stragne is that like o picked up like 40 uncontested pot and go 3 out of 7 on showdown and i end up losing after a while.

I know i will get a lot of action when i flop a set heads up with 3 spades on the board and he turning over his on flop made flush, wich should only happen to him 1% of the time if im correct.

Ik i made a raise with A J get called, flop comes A Q 7, it an ok flop but AK, AQ, still beat me....so i bet the flop, ge6t called, i check the turn, the river comes a 10 and i call one more bet, he turns over straight i lose the showdown and a big pot...

i had AK flops comes 2 9 K, i bet flop and turn and call on river he shows set..

Idk i allmost never saw my sets beating AK...

it is frustrating really...

it feels like very time i get to showdwon my premium starting hand that improved got beaten a lot more then hold up....

and when i got flopped a the nuts no1 pays me off... is it because i wanna make every draws pay to continu after the flop...like allmost everytime picking up a small pot...

not sure what to do here, ok less calling on the river would prob be a big game changers...

but any advice, guyand girls, would be nice..........

thank you in advandce

Happens live too.

Will try to offer my 2 cents on each example you provided:

1.) Flopping a flush is probably slightly over 2.6% chance. Also context is important. You flopped a set, he flops a flush, you still have 10 outs to improve to a full house or quads. Or if you're also holding a spade that's higher than his spades (say you flop a set Kings with your KsKc, and turn is As you have even more outs. And this also depends on betting action, if you think he flopped his flush you can slow betting down and see if your hand improves or even call small bets.

2.) What's the turn card? Why are we checking this. Ok to bet your TPGK but consider who else is calling?

3.) AK on this flop, as played sounds good. But what's the turn or river? Did he flop the set? Did the turn or river cards complete straights or flushes? Also we tend to remember the losses more than the wins. odds of flopping a set I believe are around 11%.

People will come here and say we need more information on these hands to give solid feedback and thoughts, they're correct. I mean in these examples are you betting enough to make them pay worse odds for their draws? Are you calling small river bets with ok holdings (which is ok if you're not sure if you're beat) or are you calling big bets or all ins when the board clearly shows you're likely beat?

one remark you cant flop a set and have a higher spades wtih 3 spades on te board....

y im thinking he could have flopped a flush, but like you said its only 2.6% chance...most of the time i bet 2/3 to 3/4 pot size but on flops like this i ll just bet the pot.

Sometimes i check the turns with blanks figuring after i got called on the flop, my hand might not be best...happens more when i play out of position, like A J from the middle position...

im betting more then the odds to get a call from flushes and staight draw, excpet when they have like monsterdraws close to 50-50, in wich case it doesnt even matter how much money you put in there...

y the bets i talk about are like the big river bets or all ins
as i recallr it get mostly 1-2 odds, so i should only need to win 1 out 3 times to get even on this.

i ll ask up my play history to see the hand more detailed...
