Let's say it is a 6max cash game
If i am dealt a low pair or a suited connector, should i raise preflop or should i try to see the flop for free and raise if i hit something?
If i should raise, how much?
If someone else raise, how big raise should i call?

Personally, I like to raise from wherever in 6max with those hands if I'm the first to act. Good chance you'll have the best hand in 6max when you have a pocket pair so I definitely call with these hands as well. 77+ is reraise range for me.

It depends on the table.

I would definitely play those pairs but not so on connectors.

For a raise, I would do the standard which is 3x.

Pocket Pairs are much stronger against 5 other players than they are against 8 other players. With 8 other players chances are good that somebody else has either two over cards, a higher pocket pair, etc.

If you are beginning in microstakes, you live by taking uncontested blinds.

If you feel the table isn't defending a lot of blinds, I raise pocket pairs anytime and c-bet most of the flops (when heads up. multi-way I don't c-bet very often, but 100% of the time if I hit a set). If I'm facing a more agressive type of table (not too likely, if microstakes), I'd consider folding 22-55 early position, since I don't want to see any 3-bet behind me.

Phil Gordon, developed the Gordon Pair Principle which is a quick way to calculate the odds of someone acting after you holding a higher pocket pair than you have.

The formula is C = (N x R) / 2

C = Percentage chance that an opponent left to act has a higher pocket pair.
N = Number of players left to act after you.
R = Number of higher pocket pairs than yours.

If you have a pair of 6s UTG in 6 max there are 6 players left to act. and there are 8 higher pairs. C=(6*8)/2 = ~24% in 9 max UTG its (9*8)/2 = ~36%. Add in a couple of big suited connectors and an AQ AK or AJ and suddenly you're a dog.

I found very interesting the beginning my friend, did not know, and if it is really valid, is an essential tool , easy and practical .... however, will be q it is reliable ? I see a lot of mathematical logic in it ... for example :

I have couple of 2 in hand against 8 players : C = 12x8 / 2 ... C = 48 % just ....

Well , I like to know yet , but I doubt even haha, where he explains this better ? In a book ?
