Phil Gordon, developed the Gordon Pair Principle which is a quick way to calculate the odds
of someone acting after you holding a higher pocket pair than you have.
The formula is C = (N x R) / 2
C = Percentage chance that an opponent left to act has a higher pocket pair.
N = Number of players left to act after you.
R = Number of higher pocket pairs than yours.
If you have a pair of 6s UTG in 6 max there are 6 players left to act. and there are 8 higher pairs. C=(6*8)/2 = ~24% in 9 max UTG its (9*8)/2 = ~36%. Add in a couple of big suited connectors and an AQ AK or AJ and suddenly you're a dog.
