When should I play with low cards?

Pretty wide question, nothing is ever that black and white in poker :D So many things matter: position, stack size, table size, what has happened before your turn, your own mindset etc.

I play 6-max cash games and I usually play (open/flat call) low suited connectors preflop, no matter what position, if I am able to see the flop by only paying 3bb, maybe 4bb at maximum. Not every time though and that is hard to explain. Sometimes I even call bigger raises, even when someone 3bets. You just have to play to gain experience and then you start to pick up good spots to play them. The gap matters as well: I'd much rather play 65s than 63s. Actually, I almost never play that 63s cause that is already close to rubbish. Then again, I play 65s almost every time if nothing weird happens preflop.

The big picture here might be that I play them when the gap is only one card at maximum. And they got to be suited. But then again, if your position is good and you get to see something like 54o cheap, then why not. Your goal is to get lucky with them and hit a straight, two pairs or something like that. Your opponents don't know what hit them if you do get lucky. Like I said, this is really hard to explain cause so many things matter. Maybe you should just start to experiment with them and find a way that works for you. The good thing about low cards is that they are easy to throw away if nothing good comes from the flop. Just remember to keep a nice balance of what you play and what you don't.

That would depend on you position at the time early no, middle no, late yes if you feel someone is just trying to steal blinds, you have a large stack, or you have seen the flop and it is in your favor.

When you're big blind and can call a min-2x raise to see a flop AGAINST one other player. Do not call more than that and only if you hit a very strong hand on the flop should you continue (two pair or better). Do not call if 2 or more players are already in either.

Good luck at the tables.

When you're playing Omaha/8, Stud/8, razz, deuce to seven, badugi, or other games where low cards have value. In high-only games, I would play them often at all.

Short answer - never. Long answer - maybe if it's a low pair and it doesn't cost a lot, and you're in position, and/or you're on a bluff and/or you're smack dab in the middle of a winning streak (and you can do no wrong).

Like most have said so far pay attention to position as well as other factors. And MAKE SURE your and your opponent(s) stack(s) is/are deep enough so that when u hit a huge hand u can get paid off. My general rule of thumb is to make sure my and my opponents stack is at least 20x the bet size i must call to enter the pot. (obviously this is calling and not acting first to enter the pot...that's an entirely different game).

I like to play small sized cards like 24o or 25o 79s or o etc when there are two or more going crazy betting obviously with premium cards. Just call and see the flop if they have all the premiums locked up you have a good chance of taking the pot down.

I play low cards when it's a pair or a good position at the table. And how do you play on low cards?

When there are not many opponents .3or 4 is a good situation. But you need to be aware of monster cards ....for example if you got 5 6 ...and you flopped 62 3 ....its a good flop for you but its better for over pairs .So watch out.

You can play low cards if these are masters connectors for example.

I play low cards often when players do not raise the bet and the small card can very well win the highest cards or
Couples, but sometimes it is necessary to play on a small map and not always comes large cards or senior couples and a small card can sometimes play well

No but 99% answer is and that is you don't really ever play these in cash.

Given table full of fish and the stars are lined well you might, especially suited variations:
1. To steal the blinds against correct opponents, in extreme situations maybe even from CO (but this hardly ever is correct?) 2. bluff raise 3bet 3. limp pots on big blind 4. call multi-way pots on button or co.

However, if you need to ask when to play these, you should never ever play these.

I love low pocket pairs that hit on the flop along with an A (say I have 66 and flop comes A 6 2.. love it!! I can put them on a hand like A10-AK and rinse so much cash/chips!)

I play these if I'm a blind and there's a min raise. Sometimes I can hit, and sometimes even win a showdown
