How was your longest period of unsuccessful seasons? I'm not bothered by 30 days. Day after day in the red, what to do?

I'm on a 4 day losing streak on one site right now which really sucks because I just cashed out. I just play a little bit and if I'm still getting coolers I call it a day and switch sites. I'm doing fine on the other sites I'm playing on.

If you get into really long downswings you really need to make sure there isn't a hole causing it. Switching sites can help mentally.

I've gone over a year without a cash in a tournament. I do play live and only 4 times a year at most. Technically my ROI is in the black but its taking a lot of hits lately. I don't plan on playing any this year at all. Only free rolls online.

My longest downswing lasted 89922 hands in cash, I had block/tilt/something issues, no idea what. Actually right after I realized this was happening, it fixed itself.

Old thread but always current. I am now having a losing streak, I have been losing for at least 3 weeks now. It feels like my opponent always has a better hand, they get lucky on river or something like that. A lot of coolers going on right now but not in my way. Splitted pots after river when that was the only way my opponent could win anything. Straights against flushes, flushes against bigger flushes, even full-houses against better full-houses. Not getting anyone to call when I have the nuts. The basic downswing stuff.

I am not tilting (yet) which I am proud of and 3 weeks is not even that long but this thing is slowly getting into my head. Any suggestions what to do in these kind of situations? Should I just take a break and let it be or should I just power it through and keep playing as long as I am playing my A-game?

Anyone else going through this right now? I think I need a mental backup :D

Take a break forget about it for a while 3 weeks can easly turn in 3 months and story can continue. If you have the feeling that your oponent have better hand,is lucky on turn/river thats what i will recomand.Thats what i do.

A break will never hurt.

2-4 weeks but i took time off after 2 weeks for couple of days then i come back continue the losing streak for another 2 weeks then i took a week off and it really helps because when u lose u feel u want go back to the table and chase ur losses but when i take long time off i reevaluate my bankroll and accept the fact that i lost big % of it and need a new plan and new stakes

Yeah, that's what I'll do. Played today and the same thing just goes on and on. Opponent has a better hand most of the time when the pot gets big, I am never hitting sets anymore, monster draws get missed all the time and when I have big pocket pairs, my opponents has even bigger pocket pairs. Definitely time for a break :(

I just come out of one. Say maybe 2 weeks, but I have had longer. Two days ago I had $9 left on intertops, so it was time to put BRM aside and put it all out there on two $3.30 MTTs and one $2.20 and when it was all said and done I had a $70 BR. I can't count the times I have done that and come out a winner. Sometimes you just have to go for it, at least for me. GL you all

I guess this also depends how often you play. I've gone a few weeks before and needed to take a break to get my head straight.

This is a very long time. You may want to change the type of game, escape from playing poker for a couple of days to the next time before the game really improve the game and to play very well and to think at the table! The game certainly need to be cheerful, charged for the game, the fight, the excitement! Proper nutrition, restful sleep, active lifestyle! :) good luck ;)

When you have five losing hands in a row, chances are that you will continue in the same spirit. ... Even the best world poker players sometimes need a pause in order to recover and regain their taste for the game.

Take a break, review hands, watch some poker videos.

The better you are the shorter your downswings will be, so it is always good to work on improving your game.

It's amazing what a small break can do. If you read my previous comments here up above, you can see that I was on a losing streak for at least 3 weeks. I took a break of almost one week and now I'm back, already playing much better and winning again. Thanks for everyone who suggested that I should take a break!

maybe take a break for a few days. My longest streak was about 2-3 months. Just keep at it.
