Hey, new to this forum but learning a lot already. I'm pretty good at poker; that doesn't say much on a forum like this but I'll stick to pretty good, because people can definitely beat me and I can do some beating
Anyways, I play basically Sit and go's with my friends. Before I joined this site I just called it poker, we all sit down, put our money in and whoever wins leaves with that money, maybe second place getting his money back. I played through highschool, and now with my Fraternity, and I still have never lost money. I've played only up to 10 dollars a pop, but with a large amount of people, and have never come in worse than 3rd, and that time we were playing with 10 people so I got my money back anyways.
I know this is still a small sampling, but I admit I'm getting a big head. There is a large Texas
Hold Em charity tournament coming up, with around 50 entries. Its a charity game for $100 dollars, and the top ten get paid. I'm not saying I'm an expert and this will be easy, I still definitely have holes in my game. But its in a month and I'm considering playing it. Will I be blown out of the water? I know its hard to judge; this post is half venting, trying to get my thoughts out. Its a lot of money but I think I can play just fine and see how I do, if not my money goes to a good cause.
Any thoughts/advise for me starting out? I know many people prefer online but thats not for me. Thanks very much for the consideration.
EDIT: Only thing that worries me is there is a one time $75 add on in the beginning of the game, and $75 dollar rebuy. This is a lot, and I don't know whether I'd be comfortable paying $175 upon sitting down, but I know most people would. Should I not attempt this game if I'm not all for adding on?
